Bravo! This has been my home since 1983 and I would live no other place. Yes it has its ups and downs and the cost-of-living certainly is a top of the list (downs). But the incredible array of things you can do and the scenery, cleanliness and the climate make it a very livable city. Still experiencing growing pains but I think any up-and-coming city has to go through this transition. You did a fantastic job and you're eminently watchable...... Your boyfriend's a lucky fella 😋. Hi, born and raised in Vancouver and thought I should mention a few tips. Like many others have said, the Capilano Suspension Bridge is expensive. Around $30 for an adult. But there’s a free shuttle you can take from downtown. Also it’s important to note that Granville Island is expensive. It’s free to walk around but the vendors (crafts and food) are expensive.

Fun fact abt the sea to sky gondola: me and my family we’re driving up to the sea to sky gondola, and we see a sign saying:sea to sky gondola closed, so we look into it more and we find out that the gondola BROKE and I was telling my family before we saw the sign, that we were gonna crash. Thank you so much!! I find focusing on filming these videos helps me a lot - I’m so focused on Matt and the camera and remembering what I want to say that it distracts me. But it still makes travel hard at times, I’ve frozen in large crowds and had panic attacks many times. I worry people are looking at me and I feel so uncomfortable! Honestly, if I didn’t have Matt with me I’m not sure I could travel. He helps me a LOT! I use a free app called ‘Oak’ and it has these great, quick breathing exercises I do when I feel the anxiety building. Very discreet and they really help! Phoebe x

Thank you for the tips - I’m in Vancouver mid sep- oct. I am excited to visit your beautiful town. Do you know any affordable car hiring just for a few days to visit Whistler for the day to hike. Lila 🙌🏽🤙🏾

The sea to sky gondola is that Squamish
@CthuluPrawn5 жыл бұрын
I live in the area. It sure is. Its incredibly busy there though. The gondola has a huge parking lot nestled at the base of the mountain its impossible to miss going up the sea to sky highway. You can climb the mountain (The Chief) for free but you can't park in that parking lot . Make sure you get there no later then 8am if you want a parking spot.
@Sultan11-MF5 жыл бұрын
@@CthuluPrawn Thanks for that . Squamish isn't that faar from Vancouver I'm sure you can get a local bus from Vancouver to Squamish . I'm from the UK and planning to visit Vancouver some day.

Just to share our experience too - we visited in the afternoon and it wasn’t busy at aIl on the day we went! It was a weekday and we were there in summer. We loved it 😀

If you're on a budget forget Capilano suspension.(a family package with no transportation, eats, etc is killer) Ill save you a small fortune. 2 adults and 2 kids will cost you $160.00 bucks. Go to Lynn Canyon on local transit. It also has a fantastic suspension bridge. A waterfall that locals jump from. (dont people die) but you can swim in the mountain streams below the falls. Bring a lunch you can also hike around. Ive been there when indigenous first Nations people drum, dance and sing, sometimes.Way less people, beautiful, more to do, and cost is 0 except for 3 bucks for the bus! Which will drop you 5 min from the park. Ask me Ill try to answer your question.

Hey Ricky! We did, it’s all in this post: littlegreybox.net/2018/07/18/this-is-how-much-a-canadian-rockies-road-trip-actually-costs/

Do you recommend renting a car? I'll be with my family for about 5 days.

Hello! We rented a car as we were doing a road trip out through the Rockies afterwards. We were really glad we had the car in Vancouver, it was so easy to get around and meant we were able to see/do more. We were just two people, I imagine it would be even more useful with a family :) Phoebe x

As a local I’d just like to say that Lynn Valley suspension bridge is free and there’s tons of amazing trails in the area! Also be careful when you’re on the edge of gas town and China town because once you get closer to the water and Hastings st it’s not a safe area to hang...
