Apples and oranges, people. The Vanderhall isn't trying to be a Morgan - it's trying to be a pretty good bare-bones sports car that happens to have three wheels because that way it can be lighter. The Morgan is not a car so much as an ongoing hobby, an image, and a lifestyle; its weaknesses are part of its charm. Each fails by the standards of the other because they're really not the same thing, and are only superficially similar.

The Morgan does look 100% better. I don't dislike the Venice though, it's one of the better looking 3 wheelers, I just am not crazy with the wheels, they don't seem to fit the look of the car when other stuff has an old school look.

An excellent video. The Morgan owner (video commentator) does a funny tongue in cheek comparison of his vehicle and the Vanderhall. Only tonight while searching for turbo charged Can Am Spyder videos did a youtube ad pop up with Jay Leno's review of the Vanderhall (I didn't know they existed) and here I am. Considering that I have been obsessed with buying a brand new Can Am Spyder f3 1330cc for a long time, I'll now have to consider this bike for alot of different reasons. I wish there were an east coast Vanderhall dealer where I could see and possibly drive one of these, because the cost is comparable to a new F3. I especially like the upgrade 200hp version. Definitely something for me to think about. That guys Morgan looks like a bunch of junk to me, I wouldn't want one mainly because I'm old and tired of repairing poorly manufactured junk (no fun).

The Morgan should have had a Moto Guzzi engine. The Vanderhall should hane had a Fiat 1.4 Multiair engine.

Unfortunately the Morgan wasn't developed by the Morgan Motor Company. It was developed by Peter Larson in Seattle. Morgan bought it off of him and then proceeded to screw it up with design changes they didn't understand. Took them more than three years to work out the screw ups that Pete had already cleared up. Some of the things Morgan didn't like resulted in severe handling problems that took Morgan almost three years to work out. Pete also worked out the problems with the drivetrain that Morgan just tossed away. The Vanderhall is just a more modern iteration of the three-wheeler. Actually front wheel drive is better because a three-wheeler has better handling with the majority of the vehicle mass close to the front wheels; more resistant to rollover.

There was research and a publication sponsored by the US DOT NHTSA back in 1981 that looked specifically at three-wheeled vehicles and their handling characteristics in both the 2F1R and 1F2R configurations. Very few people know anything about this research or the conclusions. If you were going to design and build a three-wheeler this research publication will save you many hours of work trying to design and build a vehicle that is very resistant to rollover. In an interview on an episode of Jay Leno's Garage Steve Hall points out the number of iterations it took his company to come up with the front wheel drive configuration that they are using. If he knew about this research he could have arrived at the same configuration just by reading this publication. The conclusion of the publication is that it is possible to design and build a three-wheeler that will handle better than any other vehicle presently on the highways and that include all of the super cars. The title of the report is "Evaluation of Electric and Hybrid 3-Wheeled Vehicle for Handling and Stability" Contract Number: DOT-HS-902309. The publication is in two volumes, the Executive Summary(Vol. I) and the Technical Report (Vol. II).

It's ok John, some of us out here in internet world actually design and build our own cars from scratch, ignore the ignorants. The Nissan Delta goes someway towards substantiating the theory, and an amazing fact to many is that a reverse trike understeers while a trike oversteers. It's a fact found in physics. I am starting a 3 wheeler this very week, maybe for production. Morgan/Vintage looks, Vanderhall FWD modern layout and drivetrain. usually takes me about 3 months to build a proto. My Morgan, that was purchased both on a whim and for business promotion purposes is just a pile of rubbish, broken again, S&S engine this time, rear 90 degree drive unit last time, and just being used for promotional display now until i could be bothered to fix it and sell it..

Right, the Morgan is nowhere near as bad as that guy is making out; also, the Vanderhall is simply ugly. No offence, it is just ugly; it's like half a regular car. The Morgan on the other hand is simply beautiful; so wins.
