I use to take long drives: Bangalore to Kerala, Round trip: Kerala ->Bangalore-> Goa Best way to drive in every situation: Always keep vehicle in a steady speed of your comfort zone, I usually keep 60kmph in Highways(Kerala, because of traffic congestion), if you are sure about the traffic(NH) keep 80-100kph, more than that speed is always a risk in Indian roads. Keeping the car in steady speed reduces the risk of accident, also automatically improves the fuel efficiency. Don't keep your car in lower speed on higher gear, it is bad for the clutch. For my car 1.5k-2.5k rpm band is the sweet spot. If your ego hurt after someone overtaken you :D, just keep in mind that you are not in a race track. You are going from A to B. Your purpose is to reach B not to win racing championship. PS: Best to learning defensive driving. Happy Driving

Bro simply speaking , each gear has to be changed only after reaching a specified engine rpm... vandi orikkalum high gearil low speedil pokaruth , u r straining your gearbox if u do so., so the thing is only change ur each gear at constant rpm... ( rpm can be found in engine manual) . Generally 2000 rpm for figo diesel

And another issue is like you need sudden acceleration or etc you might forget sometimes you are in neutral and this might cause delay and not give you what you expected

@@secretspeaker4465 I have automatic car. What i normally do is use a light foot, let car reach 75 to 80 Km and put it on Cruise control. RPM needs to be low too. No need to put the car in neutral, if you are on highways based on traffic you can take foot off accelerator and just cruise for a while. That way mileage will improve. While driving on highways maintain gap between vehicle in front and yours. That way you can drive safely and do this trick.

By that the cat covers more distance, the engine idly goes and more than that, while taking off the foot from Acceleration the rpm will be in as of its revving, but in neutral the rpm drops to 800rpm and be idle the car is free so u can cover more distance than the normal in gear Acceleration without Accelerating..... you need to be aware of traffic

ഒരു 2 കൊല്ലം മുന്നേ EcoSport Diesel Manual IndusGo യിൽ നിന്നും എടുത്ത് Chennai-Selam-Chennai ഓടിച്ചിരുന്നു. display യിൽ 24-26 Milage കാണിക്കുന്നുണ്ടാർന്നു, നല്ലപോലെ ചവിട്ടി തന്നെ ആണ് ഓടിച്ചത് But Speed Governor 70kmph set ആയിരുന്നു, 70 വരെ ഞാൻ കുതിക്കും. ഞാൻ ഒരു 22 പ്രേതീക്ഷിച്ചാണ്‌ ഡീസൽ അടിച്ചത് , അവസാനം ട്രിപ്പ് കഴിഞ്ഞു അവർ 400 /500 എങ്ങോട്ടു തന്നു,പിന്നെ കുറച്ചു കാല് വേദനയും.
