I have been a grease fan since 1978 and have heard Rizzo or Stockard sing this song millions of time. However, once I heard Vanessa sang this song, I was blown away. I would put neither against one another. I love both and will continue to listen to both versions. (I could stay home, every night, wait around for mister right) is a darn killer by Vanessa. For 39 years I've listened to the soundtrack and today is no different.

This show was extremely hard to pull off, it was completely live moving around a lot of different sets , everything had to be perfect so The level of credit that you have to give to this girl it’s out of this planet, her dad passed away only hours before this , she went on stage , did her thing and stole the show. It doesn’t only prove that she’s a strong woman, it also proves how INCREDIBLY TALENTED and PROFESSIONAL she is. I’ve seen artists cancel their shows over losing a Tennis match , so... WOW Vanessa , WOW. Also my favourite song of the entire musical and my favourite character.

@BallroomXtra4 жыл бұрын
Maybe it's just me but with all of the hate that she received after HSM finished, her leaked photos, her failed relationships, people calling her names and saying she isn't a role model. I mean and add the fact that her father passed away just hours before, it just feels like a response to it all. Especially the lyric "But I can feel and I can cry, a fact I'll bet you never knew" she says it with such heart that it feels directed at someone. It came from the depths of her soul and it was real. I feel like I saw Vanessa for the first time, not Gabriella, not Rizzo, but Vanessa. It was tragically beautiful.

It's a great song and role for someone who has experienced that to express it. I know nothing about this actress, but the fact ppl accused her of "not being a role model" is very Rizzo and this song in particular. Rizzo doesn't steal or lie, but she is seen as no good trash just because she is comfortable with her sexuality and expresses it (with an age peer she is dating, nothing crazy even).
