Maggie's parents told her she had to give Vanessa up for adoption and not leaving any room for arguments. So literally she felt like she had no choice in the matter also Maggie was around 15-16 years of age when she had Vanessa.

I'm sure show's gotta show and they'll reconcile but that was wrong of maggie to seek her out....then who didn't know she was lying to daniel and sharon when she claimed she'd keep her emotions in check. Getting her in trouble with that central line business. Ugh. I'm not looking forward to dragging this out. Trapped in an elevator lift during a hostage power outage and working together to save a life? Or the blood transfusion/ organ transplant scenario? I'm calling it now!

Are any of you considering that maybe it's a good thing for Maggie to get to know her birth daughter? What if Vanessa got sick and they discovered that her illness is from her birth parents? Then they could find out what exactly is wrong.

@@Cal90208 What was there to like about this Season When compared to other Seasons in particular: (1) There was no conclusions to Cliff Hangers to the previous Season (2) introduction to Characters without any background ie; Dr. Charles's daughter immediately following his first wife's death (3) conclusion to relationships ie; Dr. Charles and Robin and Brian and Emily. There is so much evidence of previous Seasons being so much better written if nothing else there is the drop in the ratings.

Speaking as a happy adoptee: Leave it alone, Maggie. You aren't doing Vanessa any favors. She has her family. It is selfish and unfair of someone in Maggie's position to use an adult child they have never known to assuage their guilty conscience.

It should be the child seeking out the parent not the other way around. The parent gave away those rights when they gave the baby away.
@phyllisdicks9830
@phyllisdicks9830 3 жыл бұрын
@@joemckim1183 Yes. Although, in defense of the birth parent, sometimes there is no other viable option for the welfare of the child. My brother and I are both adopted, and our birth parents had to make that hard choice, both due to extreme poverty. That isn't so much of an issue today, but in the 1950's, it was a very real problem. Still, it should be the child's choice whether to initiate contact.

@@TheRaddestB Every situation is different. But speaking in general terms there is more reason for the child seeking out the parent. The child didn't ask to be put up for adoption and the parent gave away their rights to the child. A lot of times it's in the best interest of the child but you still lose certain rights.

@@joemckim1183 I've known many situations that regardless of who sought out the outcomes are different between individuals. Some adoptees are glad that their bio parents reached out and some bio parents reject the kid who reaches out. You never know until you try.
@beccablueeyes99
@beccablueeyes99 3 жыл бұрын
I know this sounds a little cold, but bio parents should not try to meet the child first. You make the choice to give up your child. You go through the pros and cons, work through your hopes, fears and grief. Yes, it never fully goes away, but you had the time to make the choice. The child deserves the respect to make that same choice. They might be happy and not have questions or the desire to meet the birth mum. Once you make the choice to let go, it is up to them to decide if they want contact.

I disagree everyone has a choice and you never know the outcome of something until you try they're are many adopted children that are thrilled to meet their bio parents when the parent reaches out. The child still has a choice whether to accept their bio family or not. I have also known about adoptees that were rejected by bio family. Different circumstances for all people

When you adopt a child you need to be open and honest with them that they have a first family and that they may have contact with them. You need to help prepare them for that moment. When this is in place 99% of the time the adoptee isn't traumatized by being contacted and is secure in their adoption and with their adoptive parents and lives to n9t feel threatened by contact from their first family.

They included the pandemic in their storylines, they wore those stupid masks a lot, they made Marcel and Manning a thing and I haven't seen nurse Monique since early last season Random KZbinr: Is that last one really a big deal?
