I love how gracious her demeanor was in accepting the apology...

The most beautiful, most successful Miss America EVER along with Ms. Lee Meriwethwer. Vanessa will always be thee Miss America!!! It's funny that in the many years this pageant has been around, there aren't that many successful winners other than Vanessa and Lee Meriwether, the only two Miss Americas to step out of the beauty queen world and be successful in everything else they did.

+Jack Rigby That guy that apologized to her did it with such class and that is exactly what Vanessa deserved as the classy lady she is. She is without a doubt even today one of the most gorgeous Americans ever. She is a true CHAMPION !!

Was angry then when she was dethroned (somehow I felt it was NOT fair). I loved every acting role she was in. What an outstanding example she has set of rising above a heap of pain and injustice.

The ONLY Ms. America that ALL the World knows by name. Her beauty, humility, TALENT, and immense poise and grace while under pressure has been a MASTER CLASS in how to take the High Road. Much Respect.

First, it was and she will alway beautiful. She was the first Miss America I remember as a little black girl in Tulsa, OK. Second, she WAS Miss America 1984 (however crowned Sept '83) . AND she was not forced to resign "early in her term" quite the opposite. It was SEVEN WEEKS BEFORE HER TERM WAS TO END. And THAT is what made the scandal so sad. It was like a last minute fatal gunshot, however by accepting and resigning she was able to establish a brilliant career. Come on ET, get your copy together. Have a PA fact check. Or is this a fake ET youtube channel?

She's the only Miss America I could name. Except Lee Meriwether. Seriously, whatever organization organizes the pageant should send Vanessa Williams a check thanking her for their continued existence. An annual check.

Apologize for what? The Miss America Organization could not have let Vanessa Williams represent them with those nude photos out in public like that, especially since the organization supposed to be a role model for girls and young women. They had to do what they had to do which was to put pressure on her to resign. Even though it was wrong for the photographer Bob Guccione to go behind her back and sell those photos to Penthouse Magazine for money without her consent, but I believe that Vanessa Williams had no business posing nude in the first place, period. In my opinion a woman should not expose her nude body in front of anyone other than her husband. Her parents seemed like well rounded and religious people. I bet her parents tried to teach her about carrying herself with moral standards, but she had a rebellious spirit which her parents tried to warn her about and one day it caught up with her.

Uh... but the first lady can have nude photos by consent used in magazines. Those photos of vanessa were used without her consent. Also people live and learn and not everyone feels the way you feel about their body. Keep your body to yourself. Stop policing others who choose not to.
@clairdelunefan Жыл бұрын
shawnwomack ~ Agreed! And those photographs went beyond just nudes, they were vile soft porn. Williams chose to do them. No one held a gun to her head. The pageant never should have apologized. She's the one that disgraced herself. Miss America, like so many other institutions, has gone woke too.

Aww, how nice. Now that everything lovely Vanessa did is perfectly acceptable, maybe we'll finally get what people really want to see at the Miss America pageant - some lipstick lesbian photo-shoot sex acts on stage during the swimsuit exhibition!
