Love it. Did you use any on camera flash. The saw a flash earlier but wasn’t sure if you were using it or not

I did bounce a little, which you’ll see when the full version of this comes out at www.thephotoinsiders.com, but ultimately we ended up using the natural light photos at the super high ISO

It's so nice to see someone who knows how to frame the shot correctly in-camera, and not what I typically see - framing relative to the center focus point. She IS, after all, a Canon Explorer of Light! If you think 10,000 ISO is high, try photographing Friday Night Lights!

Haha it was crazy high for me - I was sweating a little

I will have to check your Profoto videos also. I used to used strobes a lot in studio.

Hi Vanessa through out the whole shoot did you go manual or did you use shutter priority ?
@VanessaJoyКүн бұрын
Manual the whole way ☺️

I understand no flash but what about an on camera led like a Rotolight Neo III?
@VanessaJoy12 сағат бұрын
Sure you could do that but then the foreground would be much brighter than the background potentially

Jared "Fro" Polin is probably judging you for not using the EVF.
@VanessaJoyКүн бұрын
lol probably but if I do that then you can’t see my settings 😉

That's exactly what I came here to say. I liked the video but all i could hear was jarred yelling "use the damn viewfinder "
@andydodson57187 сағат бұрын

I have a photo shot at 25,600 ISO on a 1Dx and 40mm 2.8 prime and I couldn't believe the result. Very low light and no flash but the image still looked amazing.

I've been scared to purchase the R5MII because ive heard the high iso noise is actually worse than the M1 and I shoot concerts. Should I not be concerned? I routinely shoot at 3200 and 6400

I usually love watching Vanessa's videos, but this one was difficult to watch. I realize this was a behind the scenes, POV type video, but it would have been nice to hear more of what Vanessa had to say without me having to turn the volume up, then down when she was close to the video camera source. Maybe a wireless mic?

You’re right, I need to get my audio figured out! 🤦♀️
