Ghanaian authorities should protect this area of Ghana before they lose all our forest and greenery. Soon there will be no rains in Ghana, with the continuous deforestation in the name of development. Government and chiefs in Aburi should protect this beautiful mountains and land.

There’s something called living in harmony with the environment. Blanket rules and laws that prevent people from building their homes is the wrong approach and stifles development. The government and chiefs could come up with protected areas but allow people to build their homes in other approved areas as well.

@@dadoboye1536 Totally, but is that being done, African governments are rarely proactive but more so reactionary or absent, they wait until a problem is out of control instead of applying foresight in the midst of development. Are they even involved? The real estate agent says it is the responsibility of the buyers to pitch in to build roads as if that should not be integrated in the developers plan with the approbation of the local government. Are only house owners driving on these roads?

The fact is land in Ghana is owned by Chiefs and Families. The government can however acquire land anywhere it chooses for national development, but has to pay compensation to the land owners.

Ghanaian Goverment should require the seller of contiguous lots to cut and paved roads before the land could be sold, like most developed countries require. Ghana has a lot of unpaved roads because they aren't requiring sellers of land to cut and pave the roads.

Please kindly do a Documentary on Deforestation and Climate Change due to massive developments without environment concerns being addressed. Do a Comprehensive Interview with the District Assembly Building Permits, the Minister of Roads, Interior and Forestry to find out what their policies and enforcement is to address the Climate Change, deforestation, loss of many Birds Species, Rockfalls and lost of trees and potential flooding due to development of concrete walls around houses causing erosion and flooding downstream. Is the Building Permit enforcing the submission of Hydrogeologic Survey, Geotechnical, Geophysical Analytical Sampling and Reports for Building Permits? Are Trees Planting Being Request as condition for any development? And finally prohibition of walls around houses? The Mountains and Agricultural lands are being destroyed massively. Stop this before it is too late.

@Vanessa Kanbi, thank you for the videos. As you may have noticed in the comments, there is a lot of concern for the environment amidst all these developments. There doesn't seem to be much planning or direction in the land transactions. Please gather some information on these issues, and highlight them for your viewers and also to allow informed decision-making by prospective residents of the lands. As it happens often, local or regional governments would only move to enact environmental protection after being put on the spot. Although this may be out of your domain, I would advise nudging the sellers of these lands to foster environmental sustainability in their business and push the leaders in the area to be constructively involved. We've all witnessed the rapid and irreversible degradation that happens all over the continent when unplanned developments take root. The plots you showed have a great potential to sustain a beautiful community, but this dream risks becoming another painful reminder of how we are racing to construct unlivable communities.

Consider buying land at Berekuso, where Ashesi University is. Prices (just like Aburi is around 30000 Gh and even less if you are able to bargain well with the chief)are cool with the same climatic condition...very cold weather condition with hills and vegetation. It much closer to Accra because you have to pass through Berekuso before going to Aburi....Having land around Ashesi is a great again...Trust me!!

I have been living back and forth in Accra for 6 years now. Aburi is very beautiful and breezy, the botanical garden is the best. My rent is less than $1000 every 2 years in dzorwulu, which is good because I’m only there 2/3 months out of 24. Remember. Ghana laws are not enforced like American laws. Building a house there takes commitment. You can’t leave it unattended for long periods of time. You have to hire security or have someone you trust live on the property while you travel. And if you buy land and let it sit....someone will try to build on it. So before you build that house, make sure you are prepared to make it your primary home.

Any building must have 30% for open fields and trees/forest. All building permits must require geotechnical sampling reports and no walls around houses and plant 10 trees for any shrub or tree cut. Get the secondary school students and youth to stand up and fight for Aburi. The chiefs are selling lands just for money and do not care about the youth and the future. @apa papabi spa, Ghana is a small country and it cannot absorb the massive foreigners coming in. There are not enough green areas to support the biodiversity and agriculture. We are going to run out of natural ground water very soon. There are poor native farmers who are been dislocated and have lost their livelihood to foreigners. The climate is changing and it will cause massive water shortages and affect electricity production. Massive community health issues with sanitation problems increasing. Dust and human suffering of the poor will increase and no future land and agriculture land for the next generation. Please we need to control immigration of foreigners and STOP the destruction of the forest in Aburi now. This is serious matter and Nation Security Issue for the Government. Minister for Roads should construct the Kitase Berekuso Road and Bulldoze down all the illegal houses on the hillside as he promised 3 years ago.

Point 3. We will go to the town or traditional council, district assembly and lands commission to register your land(s). Thanks

People should stop promoting the destruction of Ghana's precious forests and green areas for real estate and houses especially to foreigners. What will be left for the youth of Ghana? The preservation and protection of the environment and lands should be primordial.

@@pretty2025 Ask yourself why Africans should not come in "boat loads" as you have put it When good government and good leadership who want to do right by their people are constantly toppled, A S S A S S I N A T E D or sab-ota-ged by your government. ...Do you also know that Africans are deported in boat loads as well? ...Do you know that the reason why many Africans are involved in fake marriages is because your government makes it close to impossible to gain resident papers or citizenship without resorting to such measures? ...Do you know that your government uses ill-eg-al im-migran-ts for che-ap lab-our, take tax-es from them and make sure they never get a pen-sion after years of lab-our? ...Are you aware of your governments activities in Africa and the global south? ....Do you know that your government is constantly pill-ag-ing Africa for its re-sourc-es? ....Do you know that your government is busy using Africa as a dumpster for its e-waste which is polluting the environments and creating serious health issues in Ghana? ....Do you know that your government dumps old clothing that African countries don't have the capacity to dispose of in Africa. Do you know this pollutes our environments, creates health issues and destroys our clothing industries which then results in the poverty that forces Africans to go to your country in "boat loads" as you put it? ....Do you know that your government dumps other cheap worthless subsidised goods that is often not fit for human consumption in African countries and destroys domestic industries. ...Do you know that your government controls how many foreigners can come, or stay in your country, what properties they can have or invest in? ....Do you know that your country makes policies to insure that the means of production in your country is predominantly controlled by the government and its citizens and not foreigners and that the majority of the economy is also in their hands and not in the hands of foreigners? ....Do you know the total population of Africans in your country, or, you don't know anything that will discredit the argument you are advancing in the interest of exploiting a developing country. GHANA IS A SOVEREIGN NATION and just like your country believes it has the right to self determine, so does Ghana! GH must protect its self and its citizenry from E X P L O I T A T I V E opportunists like yourself. Ghana and its citizens should come first!! PERIODT!!!!

If you're saying what I'm thinking, "planning" is important. I don't think some of the best laid out towns and cities happened by accident and I don't think individual owners can randomly create a great town.

@@SiaLi- Lisa, i know you have sound reason to say that. I remember from grade school that Benjamin Benneker helped designed Washington DC in the 1800s or so. I've also seen beautiful sky views of orchards and farming plots over Europe. I'd be curious to start my own study of whats going on in this regard in West Africa. If anything you've come across has piqued your interest in the past, kindly past back here anytime in future. I would really appreciate your view.

I don't think land is randomly sold by chiefs in Ghana. The chiefs sell the land but most land/areas today have a site plan which is issued by the govt as he explains a bit at 07:48. There's a form of plan in place, but defs needs to be improved

Aburi has always been there and it came to the limelight for the past nearly two decades because president Kuffour built what will be considered a highway to the place and that changed the place as a prominent area for upscale real estate. Same president built the Cape Coast road and that opened up Kasoa. To defuse congestion in Accra and more importantly to spread economic development, the government should build and expand the roads from Accra to the adjoining regions, towns and cities. That move alone can spurn huge economic growth. After 60 years of independence and how the road between Accra and Kumasi is not multi lane or even two lanes each way modern highway is just unbelievable.

Where do I sign? That 30,000 cedi area has big potential and it seems like it'll be planned well. It all depends on your timeframe though. Seems that if you buy and then wait to build a little, more infrastructure will be built for you

Ghana environmental authorities should demolish all buildings on the mountain cliffs heading towards aburi town for the safety of public ..this has been a dangerous issue to deal with ..but needs to be seen ..Nana Akufo Addo ..President please take control ..lm surprise that former president kufuor also live in the area and had not dealt with this .. issue. .. too dangerous to see the buildings on the cliffs ..a little landslide will be a hazard to the public travelling on the road to aburi town.. there are accidents every year on this same landslide 🙏
