Thank you for a great video that you explain what you are doing WHILE you are doing it. It makes for a much better video. AND no stupid music. Thank you!

6:04 u could also clamp your funky green panel to the bus and use a 1 mm cutting disk or a reciprocating air saw and cut through both panels at once. the cutting disk will provide the perfect gap for a buttweld. Oh and don't worry about the gap u had this happens, if u can step across it u can weld across it.

@@Vangabondershey buddy I’ve got a 1976 tin top with a fuel injection where can I look to see what size motor I have and also I have a cot of sumsort but I have no idea where I can use it
@3521Smitty Жыл бұрын
Mine is a 78 with a 72hp 1970cc EFI engine. This is standard for 76-79. I believe the "cot" you speak of has mounting tabs that are above the driver and passenger seats on the pillars. A small child can sleep there or you can use it for storage.

Hi there! You're really doing a fantastic job! I drive a 71' named "Larry" and he's got that damn rust driverside were the windshield meets the nose, which i guess isn't that bad considering i live in Massachusetts 😅😅😅😅! I'm learning alot from you (it's not like my husband will let me even hold the welder) i think it's super important for women to know everything they can about the REALLY old Bus & vdub vert they own 😉 Larry also has his own stickers the lil ones love them @car shows! So, i wanna pop one in the mail for you & I'm going to buy a sweatshirt too! Keep up the great work, I'll be watching!!!

When it comes to details and thoroughness, you got it! No generalizations for your project here. We in the VW like mind world, do the same. Your work in details is very enjoyable to watch and listen. You have a great narrator voice. That really makes a big difference for me👍when it comes to listening to some one for over 15 minutes. Thnx for the videos!

Glad I stumbled on this channel. Love watching Metal work done on these old cars. Always pick up some great tips. When welding a large gap sometimes it is helpful to put a chuck of copper behind the weld if you can. Weld won't stick to it and it dissipates heat. But of course sometimes you can't do that if you don't have access. Keep up the vids. Love them.
