In 2022, we lost one of the most iconic extraordinary/incredible, absolutely legendary and greatest musicians and men in history. There will never be another man or musician like Vangelis. RIP. ❤❤❤🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

There is not as an overestimation to say that there existed a direct interlink between the songs composed by Vangelis and Mathematics. most ranges of his songs are incredibly as a good manifestation from an intrinsic beauty which is not being described in conventional rules and this shows Vangelis high degree perception from harmonies and their arrangements based on mathematics rules, the feature which has made his songs as a good masterclass forever in close comparison the other composers.

His Nemo/RCA Victor years were the best - Albedo 0.39 and Spiral are still my favourite albums of his. The energy and soloing on Albedo is amazing. Not as polished as Spiral but a pity he didn't do more like that.

It exists as VST for sequencer like cubase or reason but I cannot use it because cpu architecture changes especially with Apple going ARM instruction set instead of x64/x86. Also due to license I cannot use VST that saddened me a lot.

I wish he'd reconstruct this studio and put out one more album. Everything he's done over the last dozen years or so using the YES audio system sounds increasingly processed, generic almost. Not bad mind you, just not the same as these Nemo days with him interacting with all the analog gear.

There's a good reason his new studio doesn't has analog: Convenience and flexibility. You see, back then the synths sounded awesome but they were tedious to program and record. A multilayered, expressive master like Vangelis would much prefer to have his sounds ready in seconds and compose his ideas directly to the keyboard, without patching or programming. His studio is built around that idea: Everything is custom-made to his workflow, and can be arranged, recorded and processed in minutes. You just didn't had that flexibility in the 80's. All those artists made great masterpieces but at the cost of tedious work, which is a good reason of why they sound so good. They adapted their style to their setup. With the rise of digital music production, now it can be the other way around.

I totally agree with you. Vangelis lost it when he began to play on digital sound boxes with orchestral sounds inside. He must go back to the analog instruments to find the magic again.

Although your comment is 2 years old I have to respond. YT has been showcasing talented analog musicians for a long time now. Many still record directly to analog tape machines rather than to computers. I've seen a few that use the reel to reel tape machine for that authentic analog sound with the tape wow and flutter peppered with a little tape head hiss. However, many musicians today also record digitally. Many also play vintage instruments. Check out the many live performances by Kebu, Ollillaboratories, Denis Polic, Synthmania, Martin Sturtzer, Ehsan Gelsi, Giannis Ark, Tarek Mansur, enyrismusicFR, Uriel Ortega -- just to name a few...Many have been inspired by Vangelis and Tangerine Dream. Every single one of them is truly talented and deserves much more recognition than they're getting. Believe me when I say that they're just the tip of the analog iceberg on YT.
