I think this is your best video EVER ! I used to be all about mountain biking and found that my desire to live on the edge all the time lost its novelty after awhile. PLEASE do more hiking and self-introspection videos. YOU are the most interesting part of your videos.

"all i had to do was walk.... for 10 hours" lol. you're an inspiration yuka. this video really resonates with me. i'm taking a "break from everything" myself atm. got burned out from doing the things i loved too much, with too many expectations, and it wasn't fun anymore. but i feel like i'm nearing the end of the break now that i find myself doing those things in my dreams once again :)

Worst thing is all the "buddies" - what I used to call folks in close proximity on bike rides or walks (hikes). I always hated having buddies, as getting away from people was one of my motivations for hikes or bike rides. Enjoy your break.

I did a wonderful 3 day hike in Washington, USA along a beach from Rialto Beach to Lake Ozette. It was truly spectacular and beautiful, but you must have a tide-table with you and be careful not to camp where the tide will come in. Sometimes you must rest on a hill because the tide comes in so there is nowhere to hike. The things I saw and the pictures I took were spectacular. I highly recommend you do it. You are completely cut off from the world for 3 days and there is no official places to camp. You are truly out in the wild and it is not maintained with stairs, toilets, rest huts. It's just nature. You will rarely see people. The sunsets over the water are amazing.

After about 18 years of Mtbing I too started to feel burnt out from Mtbing. Looking for a change I bought my first gravel bike. It was the answer I was looking for. A whole different style of riding, so much fun. Seven plus years later and I love riding my gravel bike just as much as my Mtb. So now I alternate between the 2 for variety. I admire your courage doing a 7 day hike on your own. You are an inspiration of life, keep it up.

I’ve been following you since a while now and this was by far the most touching video in a while. It put me back into my shoes when I did the short Cradle mountain round (3 day hike). Your kind of story telling and your loveliness are different from most other creators. Keep pushing for your dreams and following your passion as long as you keep being a true inspiration.

Beautiful!! Thanks for the vicarious hike, and some childhood memories. I left Tasie for Canada 50 years ago. It seems they have fixed the trail a bit in the last 50 years. People used to get lost on that trail and never be seen again. My father used to participate in search parties.

Well done Yuka! Sleeping alone out in the forest after a long walk is good for keeping a clean mind. When beeing out trekking I love it when the different days blur and you no longer know exactly which day it is today. Then all worries, constraints and hardships from normal life are forgotten and only the here and now counts. Thank you for letting us be part of this!

15:50 Yes - every backpack trip I have been on (in my youth) left some open hurt! Usually in my feet, but sometimes from some stumble and scrape. You should have asked some experienced backpacker - There is always something that begins scraping - you don't have to suffer through it - adjustments can be made, especially to a backpack. Thank you Yuka for sharing your adventures with us - TASMANIA!!! :)

I recommend you read the novel The Long Walk by Stephen King, written under his penname Richard Bachman. It's about an annual walking competition with boys. The winner gets whatever they want for the rest of their life, but the catch is, only one can survive. It's the first novel Stephen King completed. He wrote it in 1967 at age 19 at the University of Maine. It's a short novel. Some people read it in one day.

Your writing skills are not poor at all, you have nice handwriting. And writing the to-do in past tense is a clever idea; I might start doing that in my bullet journal. I love hiking but I've only hiked in the US. This looks so amazing. Holy crumbs those huts are swank, haha. I don't think we have much like that here, and it is certainly not like the shelters on the AT.
