thanks for the video, very helpful. Are there any online calculators that allow you to enter your current pot value & monthly contibutions to compare the difference over 10/20/30 years between 2 different platforms and there repsective platform charges? Whilst the charts are great indicators, a worked example with my own figures would be great! I am with VG now but unsure if i move to IE, that i will actually grow my value significantly over the years enough to intice me to move from the VG trusted brand to IE? thanks!

Hi - glad the video was helpful. Unfortunately I am not aware of any calculators that allow you compare 2 platforms. Best wishes Damien ❤️

Interactive investor actually charges to buy and sell open ended funds, oeics etc. I think it £3.75 for each trade. So I think you need more than £100k to really make it a cheaper alternative. And why have my previous comments been deleted

Thanks @fredatlas4396 - While Interactive Investor does indeed charge to buy and sell investments (£3.99), there are ways you can avoid these charges. Firstly, there are no trading fees to pay when you regularly invest each month, which you can do from as little as £25 each month. Additionally, the 'Investor' plan includes 1 free trade per month (those with a portfolio over £50k will be upgraded to this account and the account fee for this plan is £11.99 per month). It is for this reason that we deemed it a viable alternative to Vanguard, particularly for investors who are keeen to buy and hold their investments. Thanks. Damien

@@Moneytothemasses For me as i have about the £32k mark in my Vanguard sipp I'm still only paying £48 at 0.15%. And rebalancing funds would put me just over the £150 platform fee @ £100k invested. So unless I reach say over £110k it doesn't make sense for me to move. I did look at interactive investor because they have much more index fund choices like HSBC, Fidelity & Legal & General. If Vanguard would provide a ftse all world index fund with similar charge to HSBC's offering that would be good, but I guess people would be asking why they're charging so much for their ftse all world etf then. I have now set up an investengine isa which is much cheaper & way more etfs than I would ever need. So far so good, just they're a bit slow at getting your money in and investing it according to the portfolio even with a regular monthly investment
