Every time I see SM tank shoot, I dont understand why they are so much better than Tyranid monsters from a point cost point of view.

Really appreciated this battle report, was waiting for tyranids for a loong time I only think it was a shame Mike couldn’t bring an at least fairly more competitive list against this ironstorm, you could guess he wouldn’t stand a chance just by seeing the lists :(

Good game guys, well played. The lists seemed very imbalanced though? Jake, Jake, Jake... I didn't think I'd ever see somebody use the Eliminator + Impulsor jank. Just because you can it doesn't mean you should.

I'm still confused. What is the actual "jank?" I played it back a few times but I wasn't getting it

@@theophrastusbombastus1359 The eliminators can move after shooting, if the sergeant has the correct wargear. If they move into the impulsor after they shot, the impulsor can shoot the eliminators' weapons again using its firing deck ability. Basically you get double shooting out of the eliminators weapons.

@@theophrastusbombastus1359 Disembarking the Eliminators, shooting their las-fusils, using their shoot + Normal Move ability to embark within the Impulsor again and then using the Impulsor's firing deck to fire all the las fusils again. There's nothing in the rules to say it can't be done, but it's really janky and (IMO) safe to say allowing two units to fire twice wasn't intended.

Yo! I see some inquisitorial henchmen! I just finished painting mine for my UM army, and I was curious if any of the Vanguard team has a stance on whether the henchmen are better for deep strike screening or strategic reserve point scoring (or depends on match up/mission)

Is it still possible to do the reembarking of the Eliminators (Move-Shoot-Move/Embark) on the Impulsor and shoot the Impulsor with Firing Deck? Thus letting the Eliminators shoot twice? The description of out-of-phase-rules would contradict this I'd reckon. (Rules commentary 1.2, p. 11)

especially with Invasion Fleet I would always run 2x 6Melee Warrior with Prime. With lethal hits and crits on 5 with the strategem and rerolling 1s to hit and especially in combination with a Neurolictor....You can kill anything. Also no Hive Tyrant is extemely bad, I know it was crusher stampede before, because you can spam the 5up FNP.

My reason to watch your content is to improve as a comp player. So I´m very interessted in seeing comp lists and the players making comp choices. All while the broadcasters explain the players choices. Imho there are enough other channels with fluff battlereports and I hope you´re staying in the "competitive content area".

Spoiler alert The trygon rolled terribly regardless and it did not matter, but why didn't you focus the agressors instead of the infiltrators? It has damage 3 attacks and you're wounding them on 3s... wasn't it worth the shot? you could've killed all the agressors with 12 attacks with sustained on 5s and ap-2... even if he AoCs (For 2 CP) you have a great chance of wiping the unit (not calgar).

The have 10 points, i am guessing for the painted army, they only have 1 cp

They started on 10 victory points each, because the rules of the Leviathan mission pack grant 10 VP for having your army painted to a battle ready standard. They each gained 1 CP at the start of the first turn (and every turn thereafter), again this is as per the Leviathan mission pack.
