I used to deliver pizza to this little room in the back of a florists shop (circa 1968-9) in Oceanside, L.I., N Y, where the Vanilla Fudge used to practice ! Sometimes I’d walk in and they would be playing and I’d just sit and listen! Way cool! Aah the old days 😎

Hello Dave what Pizza place in Oceanside in those days did you deliver for?My Dad owned a pizza place in Oceanside in those days I worked there as a kid .I know there was a Blossom Heath Florists but dont remember where on Long Beach Road somewhere maybe by Nathans not sure. My Dads restaurant was right in front of Oceanside Junior High School. Was Cafe Maria then he sold it and it was Marios for sometime after that. Glenn P.

WOW!! 👍 What great memories you must have!! I love this band's version of this song, and this is my favorite video of the song. I also love their version of Bang Bang. VERY COOL!! In fact, every video performance I have seen of Vanilla Fudge is WAY COOL. They put their own unique and wonderful stamp on everything they do, and I really enjoy them. They look like they would be down to earth, cool guys, as well. ❤

@matt stockton That would be correct. I was ridin' shotgun with Dave R that day. The Fudge preferred Italian sausage, black olives, and green peppers.

They ALL look so good for their age--compared to the Stones, The Who, Zeppelin, KISS, and Aerosmith, bands with members of similar age. Time has been VERY good to the Fudge--especially Mark Stein! I do hope they outlast the Rolling Stones. They are a national treasure, respected by musicians all over the world!
@robincortez65864 жыл бұрын
Overall, I agree, but I have to take exception with one thing, in particular. I saw The Who in concert last year, and Roger Daltrey looks MIGHTY FINE to me!! 🔥🔥 I think Paul Stanley is HOT, too. I do really enjoy the music of Vanilla Fudge, and would love to see them in person some day. Their videos are SUPER COOL. ✌ I LOVE their versions of this song and Bang Bang. Are you familiar with the song, Tin Soldier, by the 60s group Small Faces?

In the 80s, don't recall what year, a friend's dad formed an experimental jazz fusion band. I went to one of their rehearsals. The drummer was Carmine Appice. That rehearsal was in Carmine's house on Long Island. I sat right next to him as they played. My jaw dropped and never came back up during the couple of hours I was there.

I am English and a big fan since the 60's. Got into them after the Four Tops hit with this track. At that time you could go into music shops and listen to records in booths before buying. Was browsing albums one day and was looking at the album 'Vanilla Fudge'. Had never heard of them but saw this track so asked to listen to it. Loved it, best version I had heard so I bought the album. Now have a collection but sadly never seen them in a live performance.Don't think they ever came over here.

(even if it has some cosmetics) i've seen em a few times over the paste few years and thats pretty much how its been going+. In a strange way i think that if they keep this up they just might get some major media attention. (they already had a spot on Fallon recently) I mean considering their historical significance and all. Sure would be nice to see them invited to perform at the Grammys. (instead of more and more of ......). If anything, the vocal harmony is sooo spot on. You should hear them do People Get Ready.
