Great video, thank you Josh! Look, the issue you faced with mirror modifier about 15:00 I think is because you had to delete the half you didn't want, otherwise the mesh overlaps both sides. Anyway the Bisect option solves that too!

thanks for sharing, great tutorial, i just finished the hard surface intro tutorial (the robot arm) im looking what to do next, just have to ask.. coming from another software where quads modeling is very strict, what the deal with the all those *ngons* .. for hard surface doent matter? will my uvs unfold as easy?

Your bevels look curvy, where mine seem to just keep a flat edge.

Topology would have to be ironed out if you want to transfer the object from software to software. Other than that, there isn't anything wrong with the workflow.
