Hi Miss Donna this is Jenifer your no great American cook little sister. Thanks for taking the time to give an in-depth tutorial on making a pound cake. I found your channel 3 weeks ago and watched the video several times before I gpt the courage to do it as I have never made a pound cake before. I was successful and the end product was wonderful even though I didn't have the right pan. My family love it and said thet preferred to the one I normally make. They really enjoyed it and it didn't last long. Thanks for being a wonderful kind patient teacher. Your are a blessing. Thanks again for all your help it is truly appreciated.

Thank you Ms. Donna for sharing one of your gifts with us and I’m just writing down the ingredients for your “. beginners “ pound cake and I’m not ashamed to say that at my age I’m just taking on making my very first pound cake at 66 years old but. it’s never to late to stretch oneself to new adventures in life. God’s been taking good care of me so that I can continue to press on and do things to help others and this might prove to be a way to bring joy to some of our senior most people from church who can no longer bake and perhaps don’t want a whole cake and I can make it smaller for them if they desire. Thanks so very much! Appreciate you.

Ms. Donna Thank you .. I've been following for several years. Thanks for talking and taking the time time to make this step by step. I must tell the truth my 1st Pound Cake was a disaster & shameful. Somehow I got the ingredients wrong...I did 3 cups of flour and accidentally added 5 cups of Sugars...Needless to say once my Cake was done and I turned it out on my cake plate. It sounded like a BRICK hit the plate. I had just invited my new in-laws over for dinner. Yass, Dinner was a hit, however, when I hubby tried to cut the cake with a butter knife he couldn't cut it... Please stop laughing it got worst he went and got a butcher knife knife and was straining with all his strength to cut my cake. I was in tears. My husband took a piece of cake everyday to work for lunch... I'm sure he toss it... I promise you we are still laughing about that Pound Cake... Thank you again listening is art... not 5 cups if sugar 5 eggs... still so funny...

Hi Donna, praise God for healing both spiritual emotional as well as physical. I recently found your Channel. I lost my Mom 2 years ago and have been cooking and baking some of her old favorite recipes as part of my therapy. What a blessing to see that I am not alone in this journey. I have enjoyed my mom's recipes and God has definitely been using your Channel as part of that healing process for me. Thank you for sharing, thank you for being transparent, but most importantly thank you for trusting God and allowing us to see God work in and through you. My prayers are with you as well as your husband as you move forward in leadership. Know that God does not begin a good work and not finish it. He will perfect those things concerning us. God bless. PS side note if you put a damp kitchen towel under your bowl, it will not slide

Donna, I used this recipe as a base for making a rhubarb almond pound cake last week. It turned out fantastic! I cooked the rhubarb down with sugar till it was tender before adding about a cup+ to the cake. I added almond extract to the cake recipe and glaze. I also added some of the cooked sugar rhubarb to the glaze. I’m having fun experimenting with flavors with your recipe ❤️

This is exactly the step-by-step that I needed, especially with a hand mixer! I wonder what is the significance of the ingredients at room temperature - there has to be a scientific reason. All pound cake recipes emphasize this point. Any chemists in the chat? Also, how does your husband know exactly when to enter the kitchen for his slice of cake? Too funny!!
