I have a question on the sock chart. What is the purpose of it snd how is it helpful. Ive looked at it snd still day to myself how fo i use the information. I expected it to say how many rows are needed for a oair of socks but its badically telling me the circumference and length of my foot which doesnt match up for my shoe size. Help please.

The chart just gives you a basis of "standard sizes". The most helpful information in the chart is the foot length which is measured from the back of the heel to the tip of the longest toe. There is no way to really tell someone - knit this many rows- for a sock because of tension, type of loom, etc, how many stitches/rows you are getting per inch. I have created a spreadsheet that helps guide you with this but again it's just a resource and may not be exact because of different factors

@@caitlinhorstpower5294 yes, it’s really easy to do with the loom. I suggest just letting the yarn guide through your fingers- use them more as a directional guide- the stitches will get tighter with each stitch done….. stitch 1 will get tighter when stitch 2 and 3 are made, etc. I sure hope you will give it another try!

Thanks for sharing and your demo was very good! I can knit toe up socks on circular needles, but find the gusset and heel to be boring and tedious. I know you needle knit socks. Question??? Do you find using the loom easier than needle knitting them?

Hi Chris! Thank you for the kind words! I absolutely find it easier the knit them on the loom vs by hand! I feel it goes faster, less cramping on my hands, and they are just as durable! I still will knit by hand from time to time- I’m participating in Summer Sock Camp hosted by The Crazy Sock Lady. So I’ll have to hand knit them, then. But I enjoy loom knitting them more . As for the heels with hand knit socks my go to is the Sweet Tomato heel by Cat Bordhi

@@Chowder_head It was Loops and Threads Sock yarn. It has since been discontinued. The weight is Fingering weight.
