Austin Faulds it’s interesting to me that you think no one read it was a lie detector test. Meanwhile, we all watched him be hooked up to the equipment. That wasn’t my observation. They asked so many religious questions and normally this segment of vanity fair is interesting questions and, in my opinion, less theological. But I’m glad you thought we are all dumb and didn’t realize it’s a lie detector segment. Lol

The issue with this is that it runs based off of the heart rate. If you notice when they say "deceptive" it is first when he talks about getting forgotten as a kid when there was a tornado, and the second time was an emotionally triggering question about his parents being better at making kids. Both scenarios would likely result in an increased heart rate, but for different reasons. Being taken off guard by anything could raise heart rate(fight or flight, triggered by emotions instead of environment), and talking about emotional trauma can raise heart rate(reliving stress when a person thinks about a stressful moment).
