Honey, have you not seen the amount of content they've poured out over the past couple of weeks to build anticipation? I'd love a commentary track as well, but there's more supplemental/behind-the-scenes online than even a Criterion Collection release could boast.

Jonny Bailey is the sleeper hit of this show. We knew the girls were gonna rock it but they kept Jonny in their back pocket. He was incredible.

Agree! Though, he's really PHENOMENAL in the FELLOW TRAVELERS limited series (I say this 'cause everyone talks about BRIDGERTON, but I loved him in FT & CRASHING). He's EXCEPTIONAL!

Thank you for convincing the studio to invest in these practical sets. The tornado/wheel sequence in the library is also one of the best in 3D, it's absolutely mesmerizing

Loved that they fought for the physical sets to be made for this movie. At some point it’s tiring to see recent movies be dominated with CGI at every scene. Wicked is gonna be phenomenal I just know it 💘💚

Dancing through life scene is AMAZING. All of them, especially the choreography, it's out of this world. Jonathan Bailey is really the prince of Dancing Through Life

Thanks for clarifying that the shot of the dancer jumping and flipping with the camera pointing upwards was a 100% real and uncut dance move and shot. That was the shot that really got me in this scene.

All I could think of watching this scene was how difficult it must have been to time every part of it perfectly because it all felt like one continuous choreo. SO beautifully done.

Everything about this film is great at capturing the magic of theatre and bringing it to the screen. So many times I’ve seen musicals fail on screen, because the beauty of theatre is so difficult to replicate. They totally nailed it, and it shows, the energy, the sets, the dancing, the vocals. Stunning 💚🩷

It’s a toss up between the scene where Galinda places a pink flower behind Elphaba’s ear and the dance at Oz when Galinda and Elphaba do the slow quiet dance when I felt and saw the authenticity of their friendship and love.Overpowering.Thank you for this gift of joy and love .I don’t know how anyone cannot leave the theatre a changed person.

Same! The first time I watched, no one clapped and I regretted not doing so. The theater was so quiet after Erivo’s masterpiece of an ending. So every time I’ve seen it since then, I have applauded frantically at the end & each time many people join in!

I actually went to see Wicked for Jonathan Bailey because I became a fan ever since he appeared as a major character in the FF14 game. But I stayed watching the movie because it is amazing! Jonathan hooked me in, and the production gave me more than I expected. I love every minute of it!

the lighting in this scene is so gorgeous and it feels so real. it lets you just get lost in the dancing and singing and it’s PERFECT!

Some people in the comments are hating on it but I don’t get it. I’m going to see the movie a second time with my brother and sister in law over over the holidays so maybe I’ll change my mind on second viewing but I thought the lighting felt very authentic and raw.

@@liv2699lol yeah same, maybe my eyes just suck but it was hard to see all the beautiful details they kept talking about because all the details kept getting washed out which is just such a shame considering how beautiful and colorful everything looked irl, it’s so bright that it looked almost dull and one color at times ☹️ especially characters like Ari in her pale pinks and blonde hair, like she straight up blended into the sets and we lost all movement and facial expressions, which is a real shame

I will say this - as a massive fan of the musical I've often liked Dancing Through Life but this exceeded the stage show - so exciting and there were moments where I audibly gasped, including very small moments. Wow!
