Drag Queens in general make me so happy. Once, when I was 7, I ran up to a Drag Queen and and I yelled really loud “YOU’RE SO BEAUTIFUL!” She looked down at me and said “Oh sweety you’re even more beautiful than I am!” and I was so happy that I raised my arms and asked her to hug me! She did so without a question and I was so happy! It’s still a good memory to me! I just love these ladies!

Tyler Lethersin there wasn't much of a grunge scene in drag up till around this point. Adore is really the leader in the movement cuz yes she's really inspired by 90's grunge but at that same time in the 90's the big thing was club kids, which was the over the top crazy avant garde drag. Think Bjork on lsd. Acid Betty is really reminiscent of it.

Let us not forget that people confuse cross dressers with both communities. they are not dressing to the extreme as drag queens do and they have no interest in changing genders. They just like the clothes of the opposite sex.
@nola14398 жыл бұрын
Indigo Jay one time I was talking to my friend about drag race and he goes "that sounds neat. I'm a big supporter of transgender people." Like okay you mean well but like.... I politely let him know they aren't the same thing bc he didn't know better. But It's unknowingly so offensive to trans people to put them in the same category. And a trans woman is just a woman, and most don't want to be a caricature of a woman, doing death drops and painting their faces over the top and wearing wigs. They just are normal women and most want to fit in as a normal woman not as a costume of a woman. If a trans woman does drag, that'd make her a woman who does drag, which does exist (forgot her name but I know there was a trans woman on S4 or 5 of drag race). Anyways.

@griffinball17616 жыл бұрын
i would agree, but all of the queens pretty much went over their basic makeup and didn’t focus on an in depth beat, and this video was centered around the fashion in particular, not the makeup. also, while exaggerated, her eye makeup isn’t anime based, it’s the basic drag eye shape that most queens sketch out.

@JadeLeaf19807 жыл бұрын
Raja has a noticeable bump on her feet in heels, I wonder if that's just natural bone structure or if it's a painful condition from wearing such high heels for all the years in drag? A small thing that's probably nothing but it has me suddenly considering how uncomfortable these men are and that drag queens probably end up suffering long term for their art (such as the pageant girl hair style that causes some queens' hair to thin at the front, permanent eyelash loss from weave glue, or the binding tape literally rubbing skin raw). A lot of people probably assume it's easy for queens, that it's jut a wig, makeup and a dress but I don't think the general public really consider how much goes into creating that illusion, from the gaff/tuck,keeping them looking feminine from the waist down, the corset digging in to give a shape, the heels killing their feet, hot itchy wigs, oversized heavy jewellery, padding making them feel overheated and restricting movement and the hours of artistry spent making it all come together...makes me really appreciate the art more since having watched Drag Race and seeing the process.
@jocelynwelch33557 жыл бұрын
You realize that with the exception of the tuck, women wear this shit EVERY DAY, right? Hot itchy padded bra's, heavy weaves for black women, skin destroying makeup, painful heels that are sometimes REQUIRED in the workplace?
@JadeLeaf19807 жыл бұрын
Jocelyn Welch of course I "realise" these things having been female for the past 37 years (as of today it's 37 years anyway). I've gotten used to the pain of bras (being a 38g it took some time), the feeling of corsets, belly busters and Spanx, etc, and heels can be sore yeah, but stilettos with a particularly high heel to sole ratio aren't usually forced workwear unless you're in particular industries and aren't street shoes. In the uk it's "health and safety" for most working shoes to be flat or low heel. Guess elsewhere it's a different story. Here, unless women are out on the town, you don't see heels much and even heeled boots are pretty low. But perhaps it's because I am a woman I can appreciate the pain and discomfort of drag more than a man probably would unless he's done it. Was just a thought is all.
@tizrae55257 жыл бұрын
JadeLeaf1980 ?? In the U.K. recently there was a massive petition to stop employers forcing women to wear heels in the workplace? And the government rejected it in April this year? One receptionist was sent home without pay from Pwc because she refused to wear heels. It's definitely still an issue in the uk.
@camilleking77817 жыл бұрын
JadeLeaf1980 the bump on Raja's feet is likely a natural thing. Wearing such high heels regularly will make a person's arches higher.
