Almost all of what she said really hit home - seeing what others are doing, recognizing it’s not for you and not wanting to wait to live the life you want. I’m in my early 30s and I’m just starting to figure out what it is that I really want. I’ve taken quite a few cross country road trips, a couple solo. I miss being on the road and after researching van conversions I know it can be done pragmatically. Thinkin’ this lifestyle is calling my name!!

We all have to figure out our own way to do what we want regardless of our financial situation. I enjoyed her attitude about how she is doing her thing and how she appreciates being out in nature. There's a lot of salt about her having money and a family that supports her...THAT'S GREAT, FORTUNATE THING. She's not on here swearing you can do it free or cheap. She had a "real" job and is able to do her thing. Be happy for her instead of looking for insane, bitter reasons to hate.

Having everything handed to you doesn't help people grow. it has nothing to with hate, but she's not someone I'm going to look up to either. And having the solar panel on the back is a thief magnet. She should put the box on the back and the solar panel on the top. The box is at least lockable.

No one said anything about haters, you missed the point completely in your haste to dump on me for having an opinion, and your energy is sure ugly. People are oohing and ahing over her, my only point is, so? She's had everything handed to her. Expensive van paid for by mommy and daddy. Born good looking, she's had to overcome SO much to get to that point. I don't see a lot to admire in someone who hasn't earned anything in life on their own,, what does that have to do with hate? I'ts not about hate, it's a reality check for all these people who are saying idiotic stuff like "she's finding her path" She's not finding anything but an easy street paved by parents money. Go out and get a job, and earn the money to buy that van and support a nomad lifestyle, THAT would be something to admire.

you're not hearing what I'm saying, so I'll spell it out for you. I don't give a flying fk what you think of ME. I offered an opinion, if you don't like it, that's your problem. This video isn't about ME. It's also not about YOU and your moronic attack on someone whose opinion differs from yours. This may come as a shock, but I didn't ask for your opinion about me. So stick to the video as your topic, and don't attack other people posting in here. Now as they say, don't go away mad, just go away.

Once I've had enough, I can live in my (likely bus) conversion while I build my final home, where I'll retire. I still have my trusted companion, but I'm not sure he'll make that trip, his health is starting to fail. He was the best travel companion ever, perfect company, not one complaint out of him and I was never afraid with him along. I will always have at least one dog.

I have a Vanagon Westy now and have owned two others. Pull the canvas in as you lower the poptop. This keeps it in the van. If it gets poked back in like you are doing it now, after it’s lowered, it will still get wet during weather. It takes a minute longer, but the canvas is then inside the rig, not just stuffed in from the outside. I’ve never had my canvas get wet doing it this way in 100s of nites out. Also, if it gets wet while the top is popped, be sure and dry it out, by popping th top when the weather clears, asa you can and it will last for decades.

It is absolutely horrific, how so many men, grown man that are on her making assumptions about this young lady. You are seeing a young lady, walking along the seashore with her dog, talking about, the fear of being alone. And consciously not wanting to be numb from her day to day lifestyle. About the fear of being numb. Do you know how many young people stay in terrible relationships for the fear of being alone? It's also just tremendously disappointing to read all these angry comments about how can she be doing this trip? Remember gentlemen, a woman, that is mighty and strong is to be feared. Its easy for woman, to avoid you, because the chip on your shoulder, a NYC block long. God help you, if you ever have daughters. All she is doing, growing up. Don't ever assume, that she is insignificant and pampered. Money doesn't make you a better person. Your actions do. Judging from all the terribly misogynistic comments on hear, it sounds like, many of you guys, should go make some goal, and live some dreams. See what happens. Your going to learn lots about your self. You won't have time, to drink that hateraid. God have mercy on us all.

I LOVE this :)) I too am a solo female van dweller w my doggie living an AMAZING life, THRIVING and doing everything everyone else does aaaand i don't have to pay rent! also being able to sleep in an urban neighborhood one night and then wake up on a 7,000 ft cliff above the grand canyon in your own cozy bed a few days later is ummm, heaven. to sleep at the beach fall asleep to waves crashing and to wake up in the same spot watching the sunrise while sipping on a steaming cup of coffee in your pajamas, i mean, how is the whole world not doing this? i understand the fear and i also understand the nature of limiting belief structure The loneliness bit is interesting, for me and where i am, I don't ever feel that way. I believe you could be lonely if you lived in a van or a non moving home. it depends on where you are in your mind and how you choose to perceive your life. Are you lonely or are you solidly thriving in your aloneness? i still hang out with my friends, go to work and do everything the same except that when i go home its to my moveable home not to one thats stuck in one place. id go nuts if i stayed in one place. Nomad blood is in a select few of us and this is a way that you see it expressed. #waterpeople thank you for this video. beautifully done brother and thank you for your story sister

Hi Dylan. Please tell Alex that she will want a bungycord to fix the tent sticking out underneath the pop top roof when it's closed; tie the cord around the tent about halfway between the van and the rooftop, it needs to be tight enough for the tent to be pulled in when lowering the top. I have noticed when I watch these videos and they feature men I never see any negativity (it's all bro comments) but every time it's a woman people (men) are so mean! You don't have to be insecure and feel invalid because a woman is doing something independently of men. You still have value. Quit being so damn sensitive. Spread the love!

Boston Mike it's true though.. There's always at least one troll (male) that has to say something from the cave ages and ruin the day 😂😂

Preach. The community of human social groups would be much more peaceful if people would stop using so many labels. We are people and the things that qualify us as who we are is what we do. :)

Great van! Good for you! You have quite the loyal traveling companion. Shepherds are the best! I don't think anyone is going to mess with you when they find out you have that wonderful dog. I'm a dog-sitter and have one GSD. I've been with him since he was a 12 week old puppy, and he considers me part of his pack. so he's even very loyal to me, as his sitter. Best dogs ever! All best wishes on your travel adventures!
