I see all the comments about people loving watching your videos . You have a lovely manner, modest and honest. Full of fabulous info on great areas as well as technical ‘Van stuff’ And no spruiking or scripted dialogue. A total natural with a great sense of humour. Thank you! Your videos are quite relaxing even when you’re making a hole LOL.

Seeing as you’re on the start of the Hume highway have you thought of doing some of the Hume & Hovell walks? Some beautiful country side.

Great vid mate - I stayed at lake George a few days - there was a steady stream of comers and goers - not great for walking or riding the bike - but quiet and great stars at night.

Your van looks amazing. I use portable power but I would love to get my head around installing an inverter, fuses and the new rule regarding batteries so I could wire up some permanent power especially for a ceiling fan. I might have to extend the fan wire and add a connector to plug into the battery 🤔

I've always been an electronics hobbyist and then did various subjects on the topic in university....comes easy to me but yeah, takes a bit to get to that point. But a fan is very basic so a good thing to start with. Plenty of step by step tutorials on KZbin. My build videos are more general, so not helpful in that respect.

Is there anything you Cannot Do ? (ceiling fan) 😜 was the heat deteriorating the bike tyres? Wish I had those kind of handyman skills. Enjoy Canberra, looking forward to this, haven’t seen much of our capital Thanks again for everything Jason 😊

Hi Jason, What Karen and I love about your videos is 1. You get out and see/do interesting stuff. 2 You don't ask for money. The second point actually makes us want to support you more. The first point makes me want to get off my btm and ride my bike. You probably passed Karen as she headed back from ACT to Gloucester. Re sailing, I have 2 Hobbie Adventure Island Single seats. Great for sailing with a friend. Let's keep in touch possibly February. Steve and Karen

Thanks Steve!😊 Appreciate the feedback. Makes it worthwhile making the videos to get comments like this. I'd definitely be keen for a sail. Just need to see where I am in Feb. Anything can happen with me and my no plans attitude 😂

Great video Jason. Always good to watch your ongoing journey and van build modifications and additions. Yes the stresses of holiday driving and numb nut factor keep me off the roads at this time of the year, these days. Great drone footage of Lake George. Thanks and all the best, Sean.

Thanks Sean. Yeah, staying off the roads is a great strategy! 😁

Don't come to the coast! Crazy busy here as usual. Will be for a few more weeks. Totally with you re some drivers, we all make oopsies but so many have no situational awareness, can't see past their bonnet. The lake is looking very full. 2 years since I stayed at that rest spot, pleasant. Did you see the local eagle family? There are 2 lots at either end of the rest spot. They used to sail on Lake George back in the 60's so I read. Speed boats too I think. Looks totally different dry. You'll know the MTB park in the forest I expect. Drilling holes into ya roof!! Haha, I had to watch with one eye. Lovely free spots on the Cotter/Paddys River but probably busy this time of year. Urialla Crossing nice for a lunch stop. Stay cool...heat wise haha.

If you haven't been to Canberra for ages, maybe a revisit to Questacon for the nostalgia factor 😂

Given its school holidays and technically I need to blur faces of minors in the videos, it might just end up being a blurry screen shot 😂

Good to see that Lake George still has water in it. Safe travels; have fun in Canberra.

I was shocked to see it a few years ago when it filled up. So many years it's been dry! Funny it looks all muddy now though.

Funny.. I was camped in front of you last night! Your blue van is hard to miss. Have fun in Canberra.. the ride around Lake Burley Griffen Griffen is great. There are also some tracks in National Arboretum that you might like. Have fun.. keep on truckn'.

Morning David 😁 Yes, not too many vans like mine around. Turned out to be a pretty popular spot there! Unfortunately no internet and I needed to upload so had to drive off to suburbia. I'm keen to do those rides, but not sure how long I'll stay in town. Enjoy your trip!👍

@MakingStuffGoingPlaces I was woken by the kookaburras today but I have to leave the house by 6.30am to get to the pool on time. Maybe one day if I start my van life I'll contract you to do my wiring!
@MakingStuffGoingPlaces9 сағат бұрын
@DaisyLarson4936 Ah yes, the kookaburra alarm clock 😂 From what I hear inline, it's hard to find people to do wiring in vans. Probably could make a living out of that...but that sounds like work 😂

The van is looking awesome now you’ve finished all the roof & over cab cupboard etc. I love all the LED lighting too. Does the exhaust fan need to use power? I need something like that in my van that won’t use power because I only have the one battery that powers my fridge. Do you have any trouble with it leaking? I stopped at that rest stop at Lake George last year & the water was much bluer then too. Awesome drone footage over the lake too. So cool that you can send it up without controlling it!
@jazzycool295013 сағат бұрын
I’ve been thinking of the same thing but I was worried about leaks and if a hole in the ceiling would do the job.
@MakingStuffGoingPlaces9 сағат бұрын
Thanks Sally! 😊 I'm very happy with how it looks now. Nice to have the green insulation out of sight!😂 You can buy similar fans that have a solar panel on the top of them, so that would do the job for you. They don't consume much power though, so you could run it off your small battery too. They don't have massive airflow and it certainly won't drop the temperature much inside....even my big fans struggle to keep it cool in a hot day. Leaking isn't an issue if you apply the right sealer)adhesive correctly to a clean surface and use plenty of it to make sure there's no gaps anywhere. I did have a leak on my big rear fan, but ran some silicone around the outside and fixed it. Plus only glue them in....don't use the screws. Unnecessary and too many little holes. That's where you get leaks.

I do have a build video with more details on fitting the big fans, though same approach as the small one. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eZzdZ3qAjZKreKssi=cz2ZK7XHbfWBoXRE

People don't realise that you can get good views on Christmas day and New Years Day, as no one else is uploading. People are hungry for content, be they by themselves, or watching in between crowds. I have a near identical vent and mines under the solar panel. Helps to protect it from direct sunlight. It replaced another that was sun brittle, before panels. I paid 40 for mine in 2020 and it come with an internal face + grill + power-button.
