VANMOOF S5 - The new Shooting Star?

Ordered one few months ago, said they will deliver around this time and had all the parts in house. Now suddenly they have delay and not enough material. I feel lied to even I know there is a shortage of stuff in this world right now.

Good video. There are so many great design features on the VanMoof but the lack of a belt drive is a dealbreaker. They like to keep their components in-house so I suspect we will never see a Gates carbon belt drive unfortunately.

Totally get that. I think their main problem is too many customers for a too small support team. And: new model with a lot of innovation and software could also mean some trouble.

Thank you for a good presentation - I am riding a model Electrified S 2016 and can't wait to get my S5 in 1-2 months (was just delayed 4 weeks by Vanmoof). I agree fully on the pedals - will change to better ones from day 1. I still have not seen any accessories for the S5 yet on the Vanmoof website?

I'm only interested in a reliable bike to go to work (20 + 20km) and that I don't have to ride lying down. as I told you in the comment in the video of the veloretti I don't want my legs to turn empty. For me it must be essential. Unfortunately here in Italy I don't have the opportunity to try it before buying it

Are you intending to do another side by side of the Cowboy S4 vs. the Van Moof S5? Living in Los Angeles, I had previous thought of going w/ VM because there’s a shop here but now, there’s a $1400 price difference between the two. Yikes!!!

Too bad for delay after delay. July turned into September, which turned into October, which has now turned into December. Nothing has changed with this company. The customer service is still very much sub-par as well, as it seems that they really don’t care to keep a satisfied customer.

yes, i love my s2, and i am contemplating upgrading to an s5, and i haven't had any real customer service problems myself, but i do wish they put more of their budget towards customer service and operations, not just their moonshot projects. coughVcough. ps that said, if i could get an ampler bike here in the us, i would probably get that instead.

This is not a customer service problem, this is a supply shortage problem and you have this problem everywhere.

@@dertolledaniel how they handle the situation is. over-promising and under-delivering doesn't help. making it more and more difficult for a customer to make contact with the company is disappointing. not being informed of your order status changing until you inquire for yourself, and having to wait weeks for a reply to the inquiry just isn't good service.

Personally I think it’s a bit ugly. Some innovative features. No gates carbon belt drive. I have friends who had issues with build quality and struggled to get support. For that reason I decided to go for something more expensive but more reliable.
