That’s such a fun one!!! It looks amazingly realistic, particularly with the wind! And the contact paper suits it just perfectly!!!

Adding the chamfer to the inside so you wouldn't have to print supports is brilliant. I wish someone showed me that sooner! Great project 👍

Woah! I'm amazed with how easily you used a photo and generated an exact 3D replica!!! I've never seen the 3D modeling process (the computer part) for a 3D printed object before. Obviously you have become an expert at using it, but you make it look easy. Thanks for another great project tutorial! This channel is so valuable.

This is a really interesting detail for a haunt. It tells a story and adds mystery. So cool!

Amazing! We’re packing up our haunt today and I had the thought, I’ll have to find some way to use those ultrasonic misters that didn’t really work in the punch cauldron. Your technique could be easily adapted for the top of a mad scientist (our indoor theme) jar with some curiosity bubbling inside. Inspired as always!

So simple and fun!!! I’ll keep this idea in mind for something when we build 1/2 a pirate ship for next Halloween!!🙌🏼🤩🏴☠️🚢

So you figure out that standard trade sizes pipe are plus 3/8" for outside diameter, for schedule 40, same for hole size if you have to drill a hole. So for example 1" schedule 40 pvc the hole needs to be 1 3/8" for a holesaw. PS. My wife is a retired SB Barista.

I've always liked the idea of this but making a cigar sitting on a decorative ash tray. Having the cigar always smoking and having a slight warm glow as if it was burning. Then light a tobacco scented candle in the room and BAM...a great illusion. It could be used as a movie prop or a prop in a haunt. Van Oaks, if you made something like that, Id for sure copy your build. Great video!
@VanOaksPropsКүн бұрын
You could use the same approach, just add in a led for the burning cigar.

Great video. I can see this technique used for all different kinds of subtle additions to a haunt. You're getting really efficient with Fusion360. You should do a few more modeling tutorials using this software. I'd love to learn how to use this software to make more things myself. Thanks for sharing.

I had no idea that these misters were available with wicks! I used to use the older ones, but they were always very finicky about the height they had to be under the water. I've a lot of ideas (halloween and otherwise) for these, thanks!

This is really cool. I love ghost undertakers, and have a pony ghost undertaker avatar in Second Life. I'm going to make them their very own thermos, and add a particle steam script to it :D

Loved the build. Why didn't you start with a real thermos? We learned more about prop making since you didn't, so I don't mind. Just wondering though.
@VanOaksProps19 күн бұрын
Mainly because I didn’t have a clue of how they’re constructed and how to take one apart. So I didn’t want to risk spending money on one just to ruin it.
@bitchenboutique695319 күн бұрын
@@VanOaksProps honestly I would be afraid of drilling into an old thermos because if I remember correctly, they’ve got layers of glass and metal and a vacuum layer… I’d almost rather find an old already-broken one!

Where do you even get those little misters that aren't already built into something? And why is the circuit board necessary if it's basically plug-n-play?

Great prop, and the 3D modeling tips are always appreciated. Just wondering though, why did you print the coffee cup instead of using a real one from the thrift store or something? Was there a specific look you were going for?
@VanOaksProps18 күн бұрын
I went this route because I wasn’t sure how to go about disassembling a real thermos. Plus, if it’s still able to be used it would be a shame to ruin it for a prop. Also, many vintage thermos’ have glass interiors, so dealing with that could’ve been difficult.
@RavingMadStudios17 күн бұрын
@ I get the part about the Thermos, but I was asking about the coffee cup.
@VanOaksProps17 күн бұрын
@@RavingMadStudios Because I wanted it to make the proportions of the thermos.

I did similar for a witch's cauldron with some green LEDs up-lights to illuminate the smoke. Can you drive multiple misters and/or LEDs off the circuit board as it is 5V?
@VanOaksProps18 күн бұрын
Not sure. I’d imagine so.
@weaz54919 күн бұрын
