Thanks for taking the time to make this video. I have had mine for almost a year now and I love it. I was wondering about that groove in the rod. At first I thought it might be for serrated edges. Haha. This sharpener is the fastest sharpener I have had that can make a precise razor sharp blade. Thanks again.

Great review/demo Van! I like the notched sharpeners for edge maintenance. If the edge is nicked a little work on an oil stone and then finish off with the notched sharpener. Sure takes the guesswork out of maintaining the right angle all the time. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for watching and the feedback. Have you ever used a work sharp knife sharpener?

No I've never used one Van but I'd like to try one. They sort of look like the 'cadillac' of sharpeners - lol

Thank you got this pocket sharpener didn't know how to use it on serrated edges. Thew away the plastic cover didn't read the instructions guess my husband is right in many ways I'm like a guy. Lol oh well thanks again. I learn better from watching and doing than just reading it!!

Lol. My uncle would say he has to read the instructions to see if they wrote it right haha

Hey buddy thanks for the protips. I was allways wondering what that nook was! It's for fish hooks! And it's neat that the round dimond one, can be used for serrated. Got mine at Walmart for 12 bucks. I don't think it will last forever, and should not be used as you primary sharpener. But for a pocket sharper, it really kicks ass! Car or backpack, it's a must have.

True that. I use an Arkansas Stone and a diamond sharpener to keep an edge on my blades.

If you want all sharp knives, buy a easy to use pull though sharpener like this. Don't take sharpening advice from the knife snobs...they don't like any sharpening system that's easy to use. Good video.

I almost got one if them down here for 5 dollars or 10 can't remember. Same I think but had the one round rod sticking out the side don't remember the flat one I'll have to go check. I like them kind of sharpners but be carful some leave splinters and cut spots in the blade after a while i Messe up a knife filet knife got new each case it was a set of 2 but each shelth had a sharpner on it the 2 pieces of metal looks like yours there but these blades after a year the blade started loosing small pieces guess the sharpner was chipping the blade. So if I ever get another one I want the white stone that crosses to keep a blade sharp not just sharpens. Hope you got that the way I write sometimes I write weird and I don't understand lol. But awesome vidoe that really sharpened. Nice. Have a good weekend god bless

Great review. I'd have never figured out that notch was for fish hooks. I don't have this model, but I have one of the simple Accusharp's, and I didn't use it correctly for the longest time. What I did wrong was I pushed down on the knife, when it works best if you lightly drag the knife through the sharpener. Lightly enough that you are almost just letting the weight of the knife do the work. It probably tells you this in the instructions, but like many guys, I'm waay too manly to need any instructions, or to stop and ask for directions! And you never admit that you are lost. Ever. Those stereotypes didn't become stereotypes for nothing. LOL And, dang you Van....now your channel has got me wanting one of those Instant Pot things. I subscribed to save money, not spend it. haha If I hadn't taken such a liken to you, I'd unsubscribe. LOL

Lol. Guys only check the instructions to make sure their wrote correctly haha. Thanks for hanging in there with me. You might spend some money with an instant pot but you will trade off with saving tons of time 😀👍 just ignore the Jennifer Lawrence’s video I made lmao

Good review! I missed the groove on the round file until you pointed it out. These are great little field sharpeners, I got mine off EBay for £7.00 and consider it a bargain. It even brings an edge to my British MOD survival knife and that thing is a beast!

Don't ever test sharpness of blade by running thumb UP or down blade. Always go horizontal when testing sharpness with ur thumb. Also, your knife will be MUCH SHARPER if u don't hit the table with ur knife after running it through the two v shaped sharpeners. Other than that good informational video. Thx
