Hey Jesper, AI cold calling is illegal in the US. How do you deal with that or make sure you reduce the legal liability for you/ your clients? Also what's the success rate on these assistants? Do they actually drive significant business growth? For inbound calls it's a completely different story, but outbound seems risky/ineffective with the current legislation. Trying to understand from a business perspective, not a builder perspective.

Great question! Since I create videos for an international audience (I'm Dutch myself), it's important to know that regulations differ by country. However, outbound sales calling can still be legal (in the usa) if done correctly, particularly with proper consent. To comply, you must obtain explicit, informed consent from the recipient. This involves a clear, unambiguous agreement, like a checkbox on a lead form that specifically states they agree to receive calls from an AI assistant. The consent cannot be pre-checked and must be separate from other consents, like for emails or SMS. Our clients span across the globe, and we ensure compliance with local laws in each region. For example, we don’t offer outbound services in the Netherlands due to legal complexities. We have partners in Australia, Mexico, the U.S., Dubai and many other countries, each with its own regulations. One of our co-owners (Ewout) runs a law firm, ensuring all our practices meet the latest legal requirements. Regarding success rates, it depends on the target audience and context. Cold outreach can be less effective or even harmful in some cases, but in other situations, it can reduce costs and improve customer acquisition costs (CAC). There are also non-sales use cases for outbound calls, like reminders and meeting confirmations. Often a client comes to us asking for an outbound sales agent, and we propose an alternative solution. We generally favor inbound strategies as they are less risky and offer significant opportunities for automation, as you mentioned.
