Man I've never seen vapor blasting shine like that! Usually it's more of a dull brushed finish. Super impressive I know where I'll be sending parts if I ever get my next build up and moving!
@mxrevival2 жыл бұрын
Thanks dude! I recently taught my new intern how to do this as well. Man, wish I had the fast track like that haha! Then again, on the other hand, earning it was nice too. I was explaining above in another comment how paper blasting usually looks pretty awesome, even when it isn’t this shiny. Could be a skill, set thing, amount of time, blasted, or media on the end of its life cycle. Thanks for watching!

Good morning Charles, noticed something interesting . Woundering how you removed the site glasses from the master cylinder’s before the vapor blasting . Thanks again for your help James
@mxrevival2 жыл бұрын
Hey JAMES, I simply put them in some soft jaws in my vise, and you can pry/ punch the glass out from the inside. After that, there may still be a pressed in race left behind, at which point you can also pry that out from the outside. Don’t forget the little rubber seal that is left behind. It will be loose and removable with your fingertips after the site glass comes out.

Another great video! I am excited about this project! I love my pryme mx pads. I use them on my restores all the time. Do you have a solution to keep the dust and particles from the pads from leaving a layer of stuff on everything in the shop? Thanks!
@mxrevival2 жыл бұрын
Thanks dude! So am I. Cannot wait to finish for you guys. Unfortunately, that metal dust it’s just part of the deal! The video that just dropped yesterday morning may have a solution for you, I vacuum while I’m grinding. it is very hard to collect all that stuff, but it is a absolute mess if you do, not, as you know

Check out “my vapor blasting secrets” on KZbin. Older video I did explaining some of these things. I’ve definitely gotten better, and an updated version can be found somewhere inside of the CR 500 video with the thumbnail of the swingarm that looks destroyed. Lots more vapor blasting in that video and settings.

Man that looks awesome how come when i get my engines vapor blasted dont look that good 😍
@mxrevival2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Mike! Could be several things. Off the top of my head: experience a.k.a. a persons technique, time inside the blaster, media life, equipment (blaster) condition or quality. Most guys won’t go this far for a variety of reasons, either known or unknown to them. It took me a long time to learn how to do this, this nicely. Thanks for watching!

When somebody wins one of my giveaways, I send them an email (if it’s one of the giveaways awarded for entering to win the bike) OR I’ll drop a contact link to my website if someone wins a comment to giveaway, since I won’t have had their contact information like I do when they enter to win the bike. 😎

Yeah, man! Most guys do not put in the extra time to get the extra shine! Vapor blasting, usually looks really good, even when it isn’t done with the extra steps and time. In my case, it took me a few years to learn how to do it this well, so it could even be a skill set thing OR the media in the cabinet your parts were blasted in might’ve been on the end of its life cycle. Either way, I bet it still looks nice! Thanks a ton for watching
