Just the usual case of "mistaken identity!" Any pretext is worth the while, when Mr. Lamas might sing this most lovely of ballads!

Don't know from which film this sequence emanates. It's certainly worth a watch, but only to feast one's eyes on the exquisite beauty of Lana Turner. What an actress, what a star!!! Truly timeless!!!

The best Lehar adaptation ever, starring Lana Turner and Fernando Lamas.

i dont.agree.It isnt a good version with a wrong actress as the widow in a soprano role and MGM had some in their cast Kathryn Grayson Ann Blyth Danielle Darrieux and there was also Maureen O Hara all excellent singers. But without a singer in.the leading role Fernando Lamas sang all the songs the female and the male songs. Not a good version of the Lehar opereta. If you want a good English The Merry Widow version I choose two the 1969 London TV performance with Mary Costa and Jeremy Brett and The 2015 Metropolitan Opera performance with Renee Fleming Nathan Gunn Kelli O Hara and Sir Thomas Allen conducted by Sir Andrew Davis..

Fernando Lamas sings The Pavillon song first sang by the tenor who played Camile cut in the movie. This version has a singer as Danilo but not singer as the widow a great mistake because she should be played by a soprano.Lamas was a very talented baritone .Listen him singing with Ann Blyth

Kathryn Grayson would have been ideal in the role and she could have scaled the top notes effortlessly.Lana Turner was all wrong.

Lana Turner in der Lehár-Operette: „Die lustige Witwe“ in der besten Verfilmung von 1952 an der Seite von Fernando Lamas,,,,,bitte den ganzen Film mit deutscher Sychronfassung gleich nochmal.
