Some Williams games have a mirror installed below the marquee. You can slide the monitor chassis back by removing two bolts and just use mirror there. I discovered this when I was adjusting my Robotron convergence. Pretty amazing!

@TortureBot SuperGunGuru is right. A lot of times the convergence rings are glued in place by either the manufacturer or a former owner of your cabinet. You might have to remove this before you can adjust them. We use a flat head screwdriver to pry up the glue off the rings. Of course, this is after we have discharged the monitor. Once you get them adjusted you might want to glue them into place to keep your adjustments. We have also featured your question on episode 16 of our podcast. Thanks.

Great video. Are the convergence rings glued in place from the factory with a dab of gunk? Or are they able to be freely moved without breaking any type of seal or glue? THANKS!

Is there a method to the way the convergence rings work, such as the ring closest to the tube adjusts the top section, the next one adjusts more to the middle etc?

That's just an animation if you really look again you could see the beams of color lined up and the asteroids are gray instead of red green and blue

So the magic white pen makes the rings align automatically? It went from super out of alignment to instantly aligned.... lol. Each set of rings has a special function. At first I thought each paired set was a gun color with one ring setting horizontal and the other vertical. Boy was I wrong!! Set closest to the yoke are 2 pole, the next set of two back are 4 pole and the rearmost set are six pole. Like a magnetic Rubik's cube puzzle.
