There isn't anything new in his last phase, he just does all of his attacks quicker and hits harder due to his higher strength level at that point

One tip for people learning the boss. Don't take in crazy expensive gear for the first few kills. You will die a few times leading to a significant gp loss. Budget gear for learning means you will take less of a hit in the bank. Bring out the big guns when you got down the mechanics!

Please help, im getting hit when the axes spawn at the same time as the head, what do I have to do to skip the axes and pray against the head if they all spawn at the same time? I feel like there is nothing I can do.

This is the hardest part about Vardorvis. You’ve gotta be fast when that happens. You get hit by the head on the third tick after it spawns so make sure your using F-Keys for prayer. You can pray range as soon as you hear the head. Likely you will have to do an axe skip on the same tick. It’s not easy, you gotta be quick but it is possible. I’m not sure that I show this exact example in my guide though.

How do you know when his heads going to spawn?

Great question! I don’t think there is a specific attack that it occurs on but it’s likely to occur after his 5-6th auto attack. Usually you will get a feel for when the head spawns similar to when Kephri does the dung attack!

Sometimes it seems to me like max stats is what makes the game easy as people go in with "budget" gear setups but also max att/str/def/range/hp whatever. When I go in with decent mid-high gear, a setup considered maybe just below max and get totally wrecked I often feel like it's not being maxed out that keeps me from the relatively easy success. This is a boss where it's clearly a case of getting the skills moreso than either stats or gear.

I guess what I feel like I need is a more "survivable" setup that allows me to maximize survivability at a boss rather than dps against them so that I can get more time learning the mechanics and less time running back from a death or tp out with no kill.

Big juicy chicken is right! You won’t believe how big of a difference stats make in a fight like this (more so than gear). I shot this vid before the fang nerf as well with maxed combat. Idk if I would have beat vard in rune armor without max combat tbh.

im getting so tilted trying to figure this boss out. i have 12 kills and im still struggling to even push 30%. i have maybe 25 attempts so far. i just dont understand how youre supposed to deal with triple axe tick perfect dodging while managing prayer flick and also making sure youre getting your specs out. This is making me feel disabled. Pretty much the only kills ive managed to get were due to good rng with axe spawns in the later phase.

10:05 - 10:07 What I'm trying to figure out is how you're cheating here. I know what a true tile is and all, but you literally run into the center tile of an axe and take no damage. Why not?! edit: and 10:26 right there you cheat again. You move your true tile into the center of an axe's true tile and don't take damage. I am counting every tick of this video and I have to be missing something for this strat to be possible. Did eventually win thanks to this guide though, even if I got hit several times. I found it surprisingly helpful to practice by just coming in and beating him with my dramen staff to practice the earlier phases before things all go to hell in that last 230 hp. _Got a kill after about 4 hours!_

Not for this boss but fang is still great at a lot of other content. Better to go with a slash weapon like tent whip, blade of saeldor, or scythe if you’ve got the cash.
