A few Questions for Freedom - (Gratitude for all the Wisdom 🙏) 1. Sometimes we call D-9 as surgically opening 9th house Or D10 as surgically opening 10th house. Then why isn't D12 considered surgical opening of 12th house and how is it related to Parents? 2. Can there be any relation between Divisions which reflect a Resonance such as D12 and D24? D24 being just the higher resonance of D12? 3. How and Why particular Vargas get associated with particular Topic/Field?

1. The D10 is definitely a detailed opening of the 10th house, but not all vargas work that specifically. The D7 doesn’t show relationship, but instead 5th house indications- some say 3rd from 5th- the acquisition (nisheka) for children, or the 11th from 7th, the gain of children. While Jaimini uses the D5 for powerful leaders (of countries and corporations) to see their use of power. The D9 gives deeper inside into the 9th house when we use the karakamsha, but if we are reading for relationship and sexuality then it is more a seventh house indication that is seen in D9- we could say it is the gain of dharma, but we see childhood abuse here too, and that is definitely not dharma. The 12th house does relate to pitr (ancestors), and the number 12 is connected to surya-aditya and legacy. But more importantly, the number twelve is related to the months which are being created by the dance of the Sun and Moon (mother and father)- showing the interaction of these karaka in our life.

2. There are all types of relationships between the various charts. D3-D9-D27 have a relationship about skill ease of learning, skill ability and skill utilization. D12 showing parents and D24 showing education lets us know the tie between parental status and school potential. A strong graha or yoga in the D12 can be a powerful parent helping to attain higher levels. If we add the D60 into that same harmonic, it shows us the activities we were up to in our last life and the drive/direction we are going in this life- supporting the direction of education.

3. There are a handful of elements that factor into determination of the realm of indications. We have the house numerology in the various cycles, but that is not consistent. We have the level the varga takes place in the level of consciousness, but that is a secondary detail. Then there is the nature of calculation- parivritti (where the signs are one after the other), or the vargas being trines from each other like the D3, or kendra from each other like the D4, or starting from Leo (5th house) and Cancer (4th house) like the 24, or having no Leo or Cancer (no luminaries) like the D30. The mode of calculation has a strong influence on indications and how to read that particular varga. All these indications give us a lot of insight, but then tradition gives us the final clarity.

Freedom ji, pranam and thanks for such a detailed and insightful intro to varga's. Few technical Qs 1. Does Jamini rasi dristi as concept apply to all varga charts? 2. Is ashtanga considered in varga charts if absent in D1? 3. In what context do you generally use "AL" of a particular varga? 4. Should graha Parivartana present in D1 be considered also in vargas (even if absent in varga? 5. Any particular reason why D18 is not used whilst D30 used to understand misfortune? Or whats the difference between them Would love to see a part 2 of this series. Thank you 🙏

1. Both graha drsti and rashi dristhi apply depending on various divisional charts and/or techniques. For example, when you are reading the navamsha for partnership we see the chart as a normal order of houses from the D9 7th house (7th- partner, 8th- partners speech/money, 9th- partner's hobbies, etc) then its best to use graha drsti. If you are looking at a non-sequential house meaning like trines from D9 lagna for skills (where the 1,5,9 show skills, and 2, 6, 10 show work related karma, etc) then it is better to use rashi dristi. Good Questions.

2. It is not common to use combustion (ashtangata) in a divisional chart. Using degrees is D-charts is a modern technique. In comparison to combustion, in Pandit Sanjay Rath's tradition (I have not yet seen in a text), the Sun and Moon in the same sign of a divisional chart are called "Amavasya Yoga"- this has a similar indication as Amavasya tithi, but only impacts the realm of life indicated by the varga.

3. Arudhas work for regular format vargas (one in which houses have meanings similar to standard rashi order). Using the D9 example, from lagna the houses are read in trines and do not have a standard D1 house meaning, so i would not use arudhas. For relationship where houses are read in standard order of meaning, such as from the d9 7th house for partner, can use arudhas but they must be accordingly- such as the arudha of the 12th house is the A6 for that first partner.

4. I use the parivartana of each divisional chart individually in that varga and only for results pertaining to that varga and houses within that varga. Example: a parivartana with a planet in navamsha trines will add that planets skills relative to the yoga of the two grahas.

5. This questions gets into hypotheticals. We can approach Jyotish from the outside wondering why something isn't indicated that we think should be there, or from the inside deeply contemplated the schemas that were created by the sages so that it teaches us something. We can see that the D27 and D30 are a compliment to each other. My question would be more about why did the system of Parashara choose the D16 instead of the D18? especially being that the Parashara system does not have a D6.

Thanks. I have Jupiter in the sign of Earth in D-27 and languages for me are also difficult to learn and assimilate, even after years of study.. So this is true

Always pleasure to learn from Freedom Cole. May i ask general question. It is said it is good to have many planets in 11th house of D1. Is it true for varga charts(D9,D60) too?
@scienceoflight9 күн бұрын
I would not use that rule at all for D9- the eleventh from lagna is the fifth house of the first partner making her very intelligent and also not listening to anyone outside herself. It is the 10th house from the second partner making them always busy at work and never home and enjoying personal time, etc. For D60, it is would be good in general, but depends on where the lagnesha has gone, as we read planet placements from lagna and arudha lagna in D60.

I have the worst D3... My D9 is messy... MY D7 is good even if saturn is conjunct venus in pisces and love life is painful... My D10 is extreme with neech bang... I trusted my gut during my mercury mahadasha to look for relationship instead of studying and keep my attention at school... Because it would have been a waste of time! My D60 is great I have 5 planets exaulted and mars debilitated in 7th house but receives neech bang and conjunct venus. So I guess I deal with it. Thank god my D60 saves me😅

Neecha planets can be good in the D10. There is a story of a man who made a bottle of bubble bath with the image of a famous kids TV persona (with trademark permission). He sold 100s of millions during the Christmas holiday and made some millions of dollars off of bubble bath in a plastic bottle. Not a famous doctor or lawyer, just a simple item.

After the D1 has been divided into multiple divisions, why do we consider bhavas instead of only taking the amshas? Has there been a specific mention of taking bhavas in vargas or is it only specific to amshas?

What abt Ra+Ke conjunction in higher divisional charts?

If you learn well, you won't need anything more than D1 & D9.

Rahu & Ketu conjuction happens only in certain division chart. But it can happen even in D1?. How? Rahu mooltrikona is Virgo & Ketu Mooltrikona is Pisces. Mooltrikona is synonymous to own house. Thus in today’s transit there is parivarthana of Rahu Ketu. Parivarthana is nothing but tight conjunction even more tighter than normal conjunction. In parampara of Pt.Sanjay Rath, Rahu & Ketu are conjunct in D1 due to parivarthana.
@scienceoflight9 күн бұрын
It will have major impact on the house they are conjunct in the higher vargas (though they are also conjunct in the D6). You can generally assume that they will take activities in a different direction. For example, using Pisces D24 lagna with Rahu-Ketu in the 9th house, JFK completed his bachelors but didn't complete a Master's level education and instead went into the military. The Rahu-Ketu altered the direction of educational progress.

Thank You Mr. Cole. Question about the D60 chart. In D60 we determine the Soul purpose from the 12th house? If so Jupiter being the Karaka of 12th house in natural 12th sign in D60, does it mean this person will reach Moksha in this lifetime and won't reincarnate?
