My wife and I are picking up a used 2014 2500 5.7l Tradesman Crew Cab 4x4 with 18,030 miles on it. This truck has VVT so this is going to be important to know! Thank you for posting this video.

I have a 2010 Camaro 3.6l engine and my aculator solenoid bank 1 and 2 are leaking oil bad. My question is can I just pull them off or is there a specific way I need to removed them? Is it possible to mess up the timing chain in any way?

Very informative,thankyou! What I am really looking for is the same info for a 3.0l engine,seems like everybody is working on 2.4 ecotechs! Doesn"t anybody replace vvt control solenoids on 3.0l equinox"s

Does RockAuto have good parts? For this type of job or auto zone and the rest is the best way out 👍🏻

Ok, so my question is, i cant get the clip off the VVT solenoid. what do i do to remove it? I got the clip pieces to pop up at the top of the of plastic that locks it down but where do i squeeze on the plastic that attaches the wires to the solenoid to get it to release so i can then remove the solenoid and replace it?

2 questions. What if debris gets into the solenoid whole? How do I clean it out. Plus how do I replace the wiring harness? One of the tabs is broken might not connect properly.

Unfortunately I'd take off the valve cover, best way to clean it, then change the oil.
Would have been nice if you'd have said the torque for that 10 mm bolt.

I did this with my 2013 Buick regal and now oil is coming from under the solenoids. This wasn't happening before and I'm still getting a code coming up for this same thing.

My connecters to the vvt are not coming off. I have been fighting them for 3 hours. Makes no damn sense. Unbelievable It's a 2011 EQ 47,574 miles. I have never run into a lane issue like this Oh wait...it's my personal car...yep. my own cars are the hardest always to work on. Customers vehicles, cake... but mine... I have sliced my fingertips, trying to pull the connecters off the solenoid.

The parts are 15 bucks each....the diagnostic tool and mechanic's time cost you your house payment for the month.....
@morebeer76734 жыл бұрын
$15 if you buy cheap knock-offs. You should always buy OEM for sensors, though. The voltage tolerances are so tight in modern cars that often the cheaply made aftermarket sensors fail quickly and you're doing the work all over again. These GM OEM sensors are only about $35 each.

@@morebeer7673 the cheap parts from Rock Auto made the HHR feel like it was turbocharged, the old ones were so bad. The only thing is, don't use their bolts to install....made of tin or something that breaks before it tightens. Backwards drills backed it right out of the valvecover so there was nothing seizing it....
