After the filming for Lord of the Rings was over, the horses in it who played the main horses (Shadowfax, etc.) were for sale to the big heads of the movie. But Viggo heard about this young woman who was the main trainer but obviously couldn't afford it, but who knew and worked and loved this horse day in day out, but the main studio head also wanted the horse and was going to pay for it. So Viggo went and bought her the horse as a surprise. No strings attached. He just knew that the horse was meant to be with that woman who genuinely loved it. THAT is the essence of Viggo Mortensen. Such a decent human being!

This is poignant. I never realized the true meaning of this French origin word, "poignant." until I saw Chadwick Bosman in Black Panther, after he died, and then watched him in all of his interviews, and his amazing speech at his Alma Mater, Howard University, at their graduation, which inspired the entire class, and everyone who has seen it since on KZbin and the Internet. I had seen Chadwick Bosman in his portrayal of Jackie Robinson in 42 and in other films, without realizing he was the same person. I applaud him and I admire him greatly. I'm aware now, that he did the lion's share of his memorable films, after his diagnosis of Stage 3 Colon Cancer. He hosted SNL and gave numerous interviews in a variety of venues, smiling through them all. He visited children fighting cancer, started a charity, gave an inspiring speech on life to the graduation class at Howard University, his Alma Mater, and he married the woman he loved, after years of a devoted partnership. We will never know the pain that he endured to accomplish all this. I'm convinced that he was strengthened by his personal faith, his resolve, his fortitude, his endurance, and undeniable grace, in his mission to accomplish as much as he could in those four years, while going through multiple surgeries and chemotherapy. His understood the preciousness of the time he had left, and he lived it to the full. That should challenge us to live more fully and realize how precious every moment is.

I have two friends both colon cancer survivers and black under 40 and also both very special human beings ( as we all are) when I heard of chadwicks death from something so close to home it really shook me. It should not shock it’s extremely prevalent among black YOUNG males but rarely discussed . Chadwick saw it as personal issue which was his choice and right . Their was something about him you did not need to be black to feel most know him from black panther but he made other epics ( ie a message from the king ) where he through his talent portrayed a really important message consistently . That message well that’s yours to find . A great loss but a spirit like his does not just fade into the abiss . Awards trophies get dusty his memory will be fresh forever .

I haven't seen it, but André "3000" Benjamin played Jimi Hendrix in Jimi: All is by My Side (2013) - and Wood Harris played him in Hendrix (2000) I bet Andre and Wood both did a really good job - both are underrated talents not that Chadwick couldn't have done it - I'm sure he would've been great - but often if it's been done recently enough, studios aren't looking to do it again there are several works of Chadwick's that I haven't seen yet - and others that have yet to come out - once the world is a little less crazy, I plan to take on some of the more heavy subjects - it's already a lot that he's gone *I'm not ready to be without you 🤴🏾🙅🏾*

Just so much light in Bosemans eyes the fact that he was battling cancer but yet still radiant . The best action parts of Black Panther was the water scenes when had to fight with no powers.

From a 40 minute interview like this, I can usually get a pretty good idea of how well the actors liked each other, respected each other as artists, and how genuine and inquisitive the Interviews are. This is a good one, folks.

@Biggie Smalls Viggo was born in Denmark. Raised by Danes but spent several years of his childhood in Argentina which is why he is fluent in Spanish. So no - not born in NYC. Lived in the US for many years before he went to New Zealand to act in the 3 "Rings" movies.

Some people give black panther a lot of flak for being a superhero movie. Some of it is well deserved and others are just plainly hating it just for the sake of it. But the amount of work put into recognising African culture and representing it in a non stereotypical way was truly refreshing.
