VARISCITE - OLD STOCK EXTINCT GEMSTONE! Lucin, Utah, Rarest Types, Rockhounding, Crystals, Lapidary

One of the historical Classics, Variscite is a very exciting addition to any high-caliber collection. The specimens we will see today have been mined out and now, for the most part have been locked into collections. As far as I know right now, the ribbon variscite variety we see here is the only type not considered extinct of the group shown. Thank you for your support everyone!

What would you estimate a nice cab of the lucin being worth per carat?

Great question! With a little research on most materials, you can get a feel for what the current relative average price per carat is. You clearly know how quality dependent we are on this subject. I just looked through several marketplaces this morning. I’d rather not take a stab at it today, because what I looked at in Lucin Variscite Cabs really ranged. For example, between 2 separate finished parcels of 20 carats, one was commanding ~$80.00 USD, the other $142.00, and the difference in quality was noticeable to me through the listed photographs. So, I just try to get the daily average cost per carat, usually by converting grams to carats where necessary, and then dividing to the approximate daily cost per carat.
