It's definitely smooth enough but motion reprojection is not yet available with the Varjo Aero. Apparently they're working on it but i'm very happy with it and it should only get better :)

@@ZockerBudeVR Oh completely. Low altitude, looking along the wing then yes stutters are there but your either bothered by it or not. Look forward in a comfortable 45 degrees left or right and there's no issue at all.

Yes there is, sort of. It displays one eye view which you can crop and the Varjo Base software has a record function already. I have a video of the output from it.

I have a Varjo Aero and using msfs 2020 as well. It's amazing, except for one thing for my headset. If I look at distant objects I notice that the whole image jitters/stutters ever so slightly and constantly. @DavidT do you see this as well or is it just my HMD?

From this video looks like it would be worth the $1500 upgrade from my Reverb G2. Then again I can go fly 15 hours in a real plane for that, lol. Have you used the G2, and if so what are your thoughts on the Varjo vs the G2, both in terms of performs and visual quality?

Hi Brian, thanks for the comment. I know what you mean about flying real hours though for a few reasons I no longer do that. I spent less on getting my licence than on my flight sim PC and various accessories. :) I do have a G2 and started with that. It's a good headset and clarity in the centre is very good but what the Aero brings is much wider clarity across the view that makes it more natural for your eyes to look around. I have a video (because it's KZbin) of just comparing two stills, one Aero, one G2. The purpose isn't to compare the headsets and say one is better than the other, that's a much wider topic which has to factor in cost but what I try to show is the difference in picture for people to understand and make their own mind up. Performance, the Aero is better in my opinion as to get 100% render there's actually LESS pixels than the G2 @ 100% render as the G2 then crops the rendered image to display it. However, at present the G2 offers motion reprojection which isn't yet available on the Aero. I personally don't find it a big issue, others are distraught about it :) If spending the funds to obtain a better headset are readily available, you'll likely be happy. If scraping around for every last $ and selling a kidney is involved then disappointment is more likely as the expectations for the amount spent are likely to be higher. It's not perfect, you'll need an audio solution but with a 3D printer, options are there and even without.

I'm not sure if you're implying good or bad?! MSFS in VR at these settings is giving about 33 FPS. At present, motion reprojection is not available with the Aero but I don't find it a problem.

Which quality preset are you using in Varjo Base? Also could you get some TTL footage of Half Life Alyx? Looking forward to trying it when I order mine.

@@djtaylorutube I've heard some talk about the settings being bugged and not displaying the correct PPD. You're positive it's still 35? If so, everything still looks phenomenal.

PC is an i9-10850K which I get 4.9GHz on all cores, RTX3090. FS settings are mostly high/medium with object detail 100. Aero set on default and MSFS Render @ 100
