Just talked with Varla (EU but I think it’s the same in the USA) about the (Do not change) P-settings. They say it won’t affect warranty they just don’t recommend changing it for safety reasons

Thanks for making up my mind RK9, this scooter is the perfect city cruiser for me and it's a bargain for $1,000. It's not the perfect scooter but little adjustments here and there should do the trick. Ideal safe speed for a scooter is b/t 15-20mph...you don't need to go beyond 30-40+ I like the specs on it too (Dual 500w motor, 48v, 15.8Ah, double C suspension, handle bar height, display and solid tires. Kaabo Mini 8 is the only other competitor at this price range, although the Cyberbot Mini is nice too for ($1,000), and the NanRobot Lighting for ($1,300) Thanks again, keep up the good work and reviews...

Just received mine about a week ago. I can say it feels solid where it counts. Rear brakes rubbed slightly but took two minutes to adjust. Top speed with my 210lb dad bod is 28mph. Nice range too. I'm happy with it. Just so you know that steering damper is stiff and you really have to push and pull to turn.

Are you planning on upgrading it to hydraulic brakes? Would love to see a video on that if possible

This scooter at $1k USD is great. I purchased one about a year ago and loved everything about it. My commute is about 16 miles, which is the reason why I wanted solid rubber tires, so as to not have to worry about flats. However, I ended up selling it and purchased a different escooter, around $1300, 2600W dual motor, front/rear suspensions and 10in off-road tires. The reason why I did this is because there is a path that is about 4.5 miles long on my commute that cuts through the main road and the Pegasus with its solid tires did not handle sandy, gravel, rocky terrain very well. With my new escooter with off-road tires, I am able to shave off about 6 miles, so about a 10 mile commute now. If you won't be off-roading your scooter, the Pegasus is great. Also, in regards to changing the P12 settings to PAS3, it's not recommended to change this because it reduces range by quite a bit. It may not seem like it but asking for 100% power from the motors at a complete stop drains a lot of battery. If you're worried about range but still want that full acceleration, you can always just kick start your scooter from a stop, get it moving a bit and then ease into the throttle. As long as the scooter is already moving, it will use a lot less battery when using the throttle.

Hey my KZbin Brother I gotta say the Varla seems like a pretty solid scooter they say it's better than the apollo the apollos are very cheap and Canadian but the Varla seems solid and great price
@natehorary54532 жыл бұрын
if anyone is wondering the scooter can survive a crash. i crashed mine at top speed and just minor scratches because the the big bolts on the end of the wheels the only thing that happen was steering dampener no longer existent and completely broken brake which you can replace just a pain to run the wire thru the scooter

I made my decision and buying this one over a few ones. I don't need speed over 30 and for 1K and has this to offer. My 1st scooter is the evwrcross h5 1st gen. Goes 28mph but built in the cheap side bit I still have it and just want a upgrade

I hope one of these companies will start using a Mountain Bike rear shock for their suspensions. Be nice to be able to tune the suspension to rider weight and conditions. Also, why do they not come with a 5 amp charger?

Will you be making a video on the updated 9" pneumatic tire version of the Pegasus in a future video? I was dead-set on the Pegasus, but now I'm not sure which model to get. From the pictures on Varla's site, it appears there might be more than just a tire update, too.

@@ToothlesstheNightFury510 by this i mean cut your own grooves into the tire once they are bald. as mentioned before u can do this 1-2 times before your tires are no good but the longer you ride them the more u will feel it while riding. make lines with chalk before cutting so you know your pattern. best to buy new tires but if none avail, this would be my last resort

Great informative video! The breaks look very similiar to the WideWheel Pro that I had to adjust almost every time I went for a ride. If there was a hydraulic upgrade option I'd consider it, but due to the small wheel and large brake rotor it might not be possible without metal work.

This isn't available in Australia just yet. Closest thing is a Vsett8+ which there are no thorough reviews on. The Pegasus looks like it uses the same tyres as a Skywalker 8S, and my main concern is there are NO spare tyres that I find for when they wear down. You can get 8x tyres, but they look a slightly different size.

Updating this. If I were someone interested in this scooter, stay away. Varla's customer service is piss poor at best. My stem broke, and they sent me a half-assed video on how to replace it, without showing what I would need, or how to even navigate the controllers. Also, yes, build quality is poor. You're better off saving a bit more money, and getting a premium scooter like a Zero 8x, or a Vsett 9+.

Did you ever find out why they said not to change the p12 settings? I feel like it's a safety issue. It also has me very curious though. I ordered one of these last night. I should be receiving it tomorrow sometime. I ordered mine because I have injured my back, and there are a lot of hills in the area I live in. This is kept me from venturing outside of my apartment for well over a year. So I will probably keep mine on P12-1 at most I may raise it up to 2 or 3. But I doubt it. I'm still kind of worried that my back isn't going to like this thing. But without being able to test drive any type of scooters at all. I just went out on a whim. Figured YOLO!!!! I mean... Why not?
