As a Taiwanese it's great to see our China Airlines pilots performed professionally and calmly and landed the 744 safely. The foreign Captain was chill but the Taiwanese FO seemed a little nervous at the beginning though. SF area ATCs were splendid as usual.

From the point of view of the bird it was a 747-strike, a circumstance not covered in published avian procedures. It is obvious that that would have altered its squawk code and descent parameters in controlled airspace, but there was no ATC communication with it on those matters. And how did it handle the DOA waypoint?.
