The procedure with selective ultrasound to break up the fat cells is very gentle and the tumescent anesthetic is protective of the tissues as well.

The carotid arteries and jugular vein run in the carotid space and the angling of the needle is away from this. Alot of the fat is more anterior and superficial as well as in the submental region. Additionally the cannula tip is blunted.

I keep seeing videos where people are awake during this surgery but when I had it done two days ago I was completely put to sleep for the whole thing. It wasn’t a bad experience, I just really didn’t like that breathing tube because the soreness in my throat that it caused was worse than the soreness in my chin lol.

I went to a plastic surgeon and he said he would not do the liposuction only! That I had sagging and it would not benefit me to only do lipo on my chin/neck area. I have had kybella didn’t help. Then had nova threads. What else can I do? And where are you located I need a consultation.

Hello Rosania. This Vaser liposuction procedure takes about one hour and I use a local tumescent anesthetic. The patient is awake and there is no pain :-)

I cannot believe it doesn’t hurt. I got my wisdom teeth removed and my dentist injected me 4 times on each side with the anesthetic and it still hurt like crazy when he was yanking on them.

The local anesthetic works really well. Sorry for your pain with your wisdom teeth. The two are very different in terms of innervation and ability to numb.

Shower after 48 hours. Feels a bit sore but very tolerable when healing. Sometimes the skin feels a little numb also.

Sadly the gym doesn't always change this genetic characteristic. All the gym and weight loss I've done my whole life hasn't made it go completely away. It sucks. Even when I was a teenager, very fit, skated and played soccer, very low body fat, I had a very prominent double chin.
