Through the prayers of St. Tryphon and Our Holy Lady, Joy of All Who Sorrow, pray for the servant of God Abbot Tryphon and for us as well. Amen

I post messages, quotes from the church fathers so my family can read them. I’m aware of the modern problems that plague them and want to guide them through these trying times. I’m amazed at the church fathers found the very truth about what ills us. Looking directly at our sin and our soul and how to correct it. All of this taught 100’s of years ago.

Thank you, dear Abbot TRYPHON. I just had an interesting 'chat' with someone who had also watched a video about the new military memorial church outside moscow. After someone made a comment about its having no chairs [probably a few along the sides. I don't know], a clearly-lovely woman mentioned going to a monastery church on Vashon Island where there were no chairs! I asked her if she had had the joy of meeting you? She said, yes! She is here in the U.S., i assume. I mention this, because as you started to speak about love (again, thank you), i found myself thinking of how greeting others with love (real love, appropriate love, God-connected love) always is a blessing to another person, whether they accept it or not.. And that it truly can soften the heart and allow someone (us, me) to put down the shields we so often carry. Just to see you or think about you is to make my heart smile a little. Thank you.. because the Lord is helping you and all of us..

God bless you Fr. I have a question for you. I was told by a very prominent ROCOR Orthodox apologist (layman) that I will very likely go to hell because I was divorced and remarried. (A good while before even knowing of The Church, and eventually joining) I by NO MEANS advocate in favor of divorce, but is that something you would say with a sweeping absolute statement? (I also know it takes repentance. I do feel the weight of that event that happened STILL years later, but this persons response seemed very cold.)

i agree totally but also often wonder if these same people would buy a meal for a homeless stranger or just a random person in the facility at the time, instead of a man of the cloth.

Judas mentioned that same thought when the woman was washing Christ's feet with expensive oil instead of helping the poor.
