It was the first time in my life that I saw this unique cake-pie found exclusively in the village of Ayiaso on the island of Lesvos. You’ll need flour, water, 2 hours of shifting and mixing, and 3 hours of preparation, 50 layers of phyllo dough with butter, cheese, sugar and spices. The crowning touch involves 7-8 hours of baking to create the incredible Vasilopita Ayiasou.
