As a disabled person I am especially touched by young people's life-altering health troubles. I went from independent to dependent and back home within 5 years of age 23 when it started. This poor young man has no family to rely on. He's tried so hard in life and made the best of every new challenge. May he recover 100% cancer free. May you and he be blessed. Love from the US. 💗

I'm surprised he wasn't given more instructions on what to do to help his healing! He should be walking every day, for starters, even if it's just a very short distance down the street and then back home again a couple times a day. Thank you, Sergei, for finding someone to tidy and clean his house for him (I hope they washed his clothes and his bedding too), he will feel SO much better for it. It must be so hard to be so young and so ill and to have no one there to help, especially someone who loves him and knows him. And thank you for making the long trip and providing some support and care at what must be an extremely difficult time for him. He is still so young and if his cancer has been completely removed he has a whole life ahead of him to look forward to. But first he needs to be able to recover and heal his body, heart, and mind, to be able to relax a little and take a much-needed break from all his worries, fears, loss and loneliness. Please keep us posted as he recovers!

I really feel for Vlad. I have been in a similar situation and lost my kidney too, had a very similar surgery. It’s been 4 months since my last surgery, I’ve had 5 surgeries so far and hope that’s it! Basically everything that could go wrong for me, medically, did go wrong. I also have depression so can relate to Vlad in that way too. My advice to Vlad is to get help to talk about your sorrow and depression. It’s a perfect time while you physically recover. That has to be your first step. The reason you’re not washing your dishes etc, things you can still do that aren’t about your physical limitations, is because of the depression. Please Sergei, if you want to help Vlad then start there. Secondly, after the 3 months light duty period you need to push yourself to be more physical, even if it’s just a small step extra day, just make yourself do something each day and your physical situation will greatly improve. I’m sending you all the good vibes in the world. You can do it! Don’t give up!

Vlad put it in a poetic way when he asked “ … What would you call it, Freedom or Loneliness”… I think he’s got a poet’s life because the Freedom and Loneliness go hand in hand- Freedom to Be Lonely whether he wants it or not. Very sad that he’s unable to go to school and flourish as whatever he chooses to do with his life. The Cancer is a Monster of sadness, loneliness and Freedom. Not by his choice. He’s such a beautiful soul. I wish the best for Vlad. Sergei you have been instrumental in giving Vlad a Voice. Mary from NYC
