I tried the SLK halo, but wasn’t happy with it. I recommended this paddle to a few friends and they love it! Mine is coming in a few days. I was torn between the 14 and 16 mm. Another review on the 16mm said it really struggles with power. Your review solidified my decision in the 14mm. Good job, it’s a great video!

I did get the Vatic Pro Flash Prism 14mm. (Used your code!) It is a GREAT paddle!!! It was a real surprise that it had as much pop and power as it does. It has a larger sweet spot than our previous Ronbus R1.16 and Bison Summit paddles. Much more responsive and lively a surface than our Paddletek Wave and Wave Pro3 paddles. Still, we did not feel like there is a loss of control with the 14mm. It sure is light - we weighed it and it is almost exactly 7.8 oz. It is incredibly well-balanced. (Note that we do not ever use thermoformed paddles, so this affects our perspective, I'm sure. So relative to what we are used to, it is a paddle with both power and pop.) It feels really solid and comfortable. For the price, this paddle is absolutely amazing.

Thanks for the video. We dont see many or any videos talk about the comparison of materials. Did you get the standard handle length or long? I went with the standard for the prism flash and considering getting another Vatic pro in the 16mm with the long handle.

Great review. I have the 16mm but your impression of the 14mm matches mine. I love the softness - it’s easy on my elbow. Spin and control are great. I wish it had a longer handle and a more forgiving sweet spot. Given that, if you think I should consider other paddles let me know. Thanks.

I got Prism flash 16mm as my first paddle, the feel and feedback is great! Tried Juciao Kevlar & "Titanium" both 16mm. Titanium felt very plush, had a hard time getting used to it due to lack of feedback on the surface. Kevlar felt very rigid and powerful. But at the end of the session, my wrist and forearm were a bit sore, which I never had while using Vatic. Both Juciao paddles are also heavier than Vatic. I want to have a more powerful paddle, would 14mm do that?

@@choyweide903 good question! I don’t feel that the 14mm is more powerful necessarily, but they did just release the Vatic Pro Saga paddle which is very familiar to the prism and is for sure a more powerful package!

@@jordanplayspickle yeah. I play with a gearbox gx5 and I relish handspeed. I come from a mostly table tennis background so it's really important to me. While I play other racquet sports I do tend to play them all like I play table tennis. I think I will have to order straight from the manufacturer, which is annoying as it's 100$ shipping here. How much slower is the 16mm?

A little slower for sure, but i feel that it feels (for my playstyle) super well rounded as an all court paddle. Once you figure out how to get the power, it's there which is nice@@samuelpierce7664

Thanks for the video! I have the original Flash 16mm and then bought the Prism 16mm. I am curious whether you noticed any elbow strain with the Prism? I have been fighting tennis elbow since before I had either, but it seemed to get worse with the Prism then got better again when I switched back to the original Flash. I'm not sure if it was just coincidence or if the paddle had anything to do with it.

Yeah, I can defintely see that - I have the original Vatic pro flash 16mm and while I don't have elbow strain, as mentioned in the video there's a lot more you have to put into the paddle to get the power you want. I will say, unlike some other paddles I've tried, the power is still there which is nice, but that extra work could lead to strain for sure - good thoughts!

I would go with the pro because it has a little more power unless you play a lot of control or maybe have a larger swing! Good question! 😄

Hey! I like the lighter weight of the 14mm but I think for most people the 16 is the way to go! A little more power and great control- hope that helps!

@@antoniosyrakis9329 that’s a great question! For me, I like it, but I also really like the handspeed it provides. I think the pro flash does so well is the sweet spot and ability to play out of the box so for me, I think that’s still one of my favorite paddles! If you are liking the pro flash, but one a little more power, I would suggest the hurache control X I just reviewed- although a less ideal sweet spot Thanks for your comment!

i felt this 14mm was more like a 4-5 on the power...i had more power with the 16mm....i used this paddle at the end of a day session after playing with the 14mm 6.0 double black diamond...I am going to give it another chance but I had to swing way harder to get my power shots feeling good....i only paid 80 bucks for it, so it isn't a total loss but I was hoping it had the power of the 16 with the pop of a 14 and all the things my DBD offers

I totally can see someone having this conclusion! I gave it a higher ranking, because I feel like the power potential is there even if it does require work from the Player. Also, the double black diamond hit so many bases for so many players I think it would be hard to dethrone! But when it comes to $100 paddles, I think this in the 16 mm variant are pretty special! Appreciate your thoughts 😄

That’s a great question! I actually have just got my first reps in with the dbd and I think for me, it’s a great paddle and would be the one I would choose - that being said, there’s a lot of pop and it takes some getting used to , while dinking and drops are soo great with the prism! I actually think a good middle ground would be the Vatic pro flash 16mm, that’s a great paddle, if you’re ok adding lead to get the power up. Great question!
