This is exactly the video I was watching to learn entering the zone. I should have stuck with your video rather than watching more as I just got confused. All the best and thanks again for the great videos. Cheers...Jim O. (CIX_VFR)

Another Brilliant Video. Shobdon have a lovely tea-room by the way in a old Nissen hut. (Not sure if its modelled on the FS scenery). I remember my real-life VFR flight from P'boro Conington to Shobdon very well. Lovely little airfield and must visit on MSFS soon.

Thanks Alan. So many airfields have nice cafes it seems.

Great video, just watched your departure and (this) arrival video as i've carried out 2 flights on VATSIM so far just doing circuits. I wanted to learn how to fly between two airstrips as I was massively confused trying to understand how different airspace is controlled and by who in VATSIM, this video helped me understand very easily. Your last tip at the end about maybe not flying to an airstrip only covered by Control may not be a great place to practice as they'll be handling a lot of traffic. I guess they may not even have charts to hand if you're flying into a seldom used airstrip too, probably a lot of hassle for them to handle you and also you're less to find them as patient as you need when learning! I'm going to rehearse some more circuits, but once i'm comfortable i'll review your video again a few more times, prepare and then off to fly a VFR departure and arrival :)

Excellent video, these videos are really helping me out! Just out of curiosity, when you first contacted Birmingham radar can you say "request basic service and join" instead of "request basic service and zone entry", are they interchangeable? Thank you!😁
@flightsimflyeruk3 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Yes, they are interchangeable. In fact, "...and join" is probably more correct, as the CAA seem to use that term in the guidance. I should probably try to get out of the habit of using "zone entry".

@@flightsimflyeruk Ahh I see that makes sense - appreciate it! Another thing, in cap 413 in notes the initial contact needs to be the minimum. Example: " ", XXXX request basic service Or " ", XXXX request join Can these two be merged? Thanks once again!
@flightsimflyeruk3 жыл бұрын
@@CatPawGaming I think so. A real pilot I simmed with for a bit used to do that. If you're 20miles out, you could just ask for basic service, then request join later. If you're closer, just request join.

Thank you for another great informative video. I really like these videos. Can I ask how you got the vrp’s in Little NAV Map? Also is there any chance of sharing the template that you have for entering the flight information? Thanks John
@flightsimflyeruk4 жыл бұрын
Hi John. You can add markers to LNM by right clicking on the place, then (depending on LNM version) > userpoints > add userpoint here. You might find files on the internet that allow you to import VRPs (as a CSV file), but to be honest they might be out of date. I just consult the chart, find where the VRP has to go and just place it myself as described above. I've uploaded the template here: drive.google.com/file/d/1A5GlGtTME-JAtvoXk4ndZLlLa4ungtco/view?usp=sharing

@@flightsimflyeruk Thanks for the info on LNM I have downloaded the charts where I want to fly and I will put the vrp’s into LNM as suggested. Thank you so much for sharing your VFR flight log that is very kind of you. Thanks again for all your help...John

You're welcome John. I labour the point about having the charts sometimes but LNM alone really isn't sufficient for following Vatsim VFR procedures.
@johnambler31074 жыл бұрын
@@flightsimflyeruk Thanks I did find that out. Now I have downloaded and laminated the charts and I’ve started putting all the vrp’s into LNM I the areas that I’m planing to fly. Many thanks John
