Awesome to see you back Ed. With more and more channels falling apart or produces low quality stuff, the Vaults of Terra continues to deliver high quality material. Quality beats quantity. Keep up the good work.

@DarkBattleMage04078 жыл бұрын
Simply the enemy controls the sources of raw materials the forges require to produce said ammunition. No raw materials, no ammunition.
@lonerangerv12248 жыл бұрын
don't forge worlds have their own resources in addition to off-world imports. And it seem like they ran out of ammo in the initial stages of the land fighting as it is what allowed Chaos to break out of the beachhead, which needs to happen in a few days at the most in real life. This means that a whole world dedicated to industrial production could do what individual countries could do in WW1 even before their production lines were mobilised. I would not be surprised if the answer was that the mechaniciium were not producing before the invasion and had not changed production because the paper work got lost or for technotheology.

Callum Nicolson Some Forge Worlds do others from what I read have exhausted all planetside resources, relying on imports from mining worlds and orbital sources.

Stefan B as far as I know there were traitor elements. for example the white scars were.. split and had a internal battle. one side trying to sway the Khan to horus and the other trying to stop it.

BrittelAngel5 hours ago They became apart of the strike force that was amassing around the dreadnought Cassian Vaughn, who was the first lord commander of the Salamanders legion, which was made up of Salamander, Iron Hand and Raven Guard legionaries, the Iron Warrior's commander becoming Cassian's second in command, this wiki link explains it all. warhammer40k.wikia.com/wiki/Cassian_Vaughn

One of the 30K sourcebooks outright states that there were loyalist and traitors from every legion. Examples it uses were traitor Space Wolves and loyalist Night Lords for instance. Those groups that were swimming against the current with their parent legion were small in the context of the whole HH though. Many became Black Shields, deliberately hiding their old heraldry. Other's wore their heraldry or original heraldry proudly and continued on crusades of their own without co-ordination with other allied forces. Some groups joined existing formations of those that were opposed to their parent legion. Post Heresy we don't really have solid information on what happened to those groups. It's so heavily implied that the Blood Ravens are 1K Sons that I think we can almost assume that's confirmed. It's implied that the Silver Skulls are actually descendants of the Iron Warriors rather than the Ultramarines. For a while there was speculation that the Caracadons were Night Lords, although the last book hints that they're actually Terran Raven Guard.

its funny that they were constantly thrown to forefront of the conflicts and despite heavy losses pulled through victorious despite the abandonment by their "allies".. if only Fulgrim were not involved with Perturabo, as in all honesty his legion far out performed the Imperial Fists in most instances.. and if it were not for the loses they suffered during the campaigns leading up to the battle of Terra, the outcome would have been drastically different.. as stated in the Angel Exterminatus, the Fists were little more than parade boys - showing up to steal the glory from the Iron Warriors who had fought for every bloody inch. Venerated as "siege masters" is all a lie, Dorn is a pragmatic fool and whilst all chastise the Lord of Iron - it was his legions strength that turned the tide in many battles.
@primachpepe85978 жыл бұрын
***** i agree that he is a jerk but that is part of the base of his character.. he is as unforgiving and as brutal as both his upbringing and the treatment he received from his brothers and the emperor.. but his respect for feats of engineering and the care evident in his works is s stark contrast to this..
@bladestormviking8 жыл бұрын
gotta love a guy who meets his legion, does a full audit of their actions to date and goes "YOU MEN DO NOT IMPRESS ME............ decimation should fix that". he is a "no strikes" kind of guy, because that's what his method of warfare demands in order to succeed. it's admirable and respectable, even if brutal. as a wise man once said "...ain't war hell?"
@primachpepe85978 жыл бұрын
;D yip. Nothing is as effective as fear in knowing that your failure means death, either at the hands of the enemy or by your brothers. one does not need perfection, rather efficiency. The siege breakers were seen as dull and grey, and yet it is they who dismantled the strongest of enemies fortresses down.. also fuck the Alpha Legion

Wait, so there were actually a lot of loyalist iron warriors?
@varangian958 жыл бұрын
Not many, at the end. Dantioch's company were some of the first to start worshiping the emperor, and were the only loyalist iron warriors known to have survived Pertuabo's purge. The loyalists ended up on Ultramar, and later proved key to the defence of Imperium Secundus. Those that survived were used as the core of the Silver Skulls, but they were do heavily diluted with Ultramarines to render the defense of the Schadenhold "The last loyal triumph of the IVth Legion."

So the Horus Heresy is: Istvaan III Istvaan V Signus Prime Schism of Mars Lorgar and Angron's Shadow Crusade against Ultramar Siege of Terra and some minor engagements scattered throughout. Any other ones?
@TheHatedMan818 жыл бұрын
John Whitesell what about the Thramas crusade with the Night Lords and Dark Angels? Or is that a minor conflict? I genuinely dont even know anymore
@kyokyoniizukyo71718 жыл бұрын
when you think about it, the Horus Heresy was quite small in honesty... sure the main battles where HUGE and ended up with entire legions of troops dying, but otherwise it was really locked into some 20-30 systems, with the main conflict being being Istavaan and later Sol... Mind you, I don't know exactly how large the shadow Crusade was, but the minor engagements honestly weren't that common.
@TheHatedMan818 жыл бұрын

that we know about. It's a big galaxy. There could have been huge traitor uprisings and entire campaigns fought in other places, but because no Astartes were involved, or because some sector capital was the target instead of Terra, we don't get any stories about them.

When looked at in the lense of them being secretly pro-Imperium, the Alpha Legion makes a lot more sense. How many times have they let the loyalists go, or betrayed their comrades by delay? Hell, their part in the Heresy was mostly being chased around. Did any actually fight on Terra?
