Resurrection of a video: we bought my Nan's 1996 1.6lt Holden Astra 5 speed for my eldest to learn in (Holden- read Opel). Been fixing things here & there, 168,000 well looked after km's, interior came up like brand new after a Bissell machine clean. Radio & Clock no longer work, currently trying to get the aircon fixed for hot Quuensland summers. Solid lil' cars

Hello, nice walk round video and good commentary, lovely looking car this! Good luck with the work that your going to do to it. I could be wrong myself but the electric aerial was on the higher spec cars. Yes the MK2 Astra Saloon was called the bellmont. I will look forward to seeing your future videos on this. Oh and you should be able to get the code for the radio have a look on eBay a seller on there may be able to help you. We are quite similar I think I also own a B7 Passat Estate😂Cheers.

I manged to find the radio code on a card in the glove box, so that all works now but I need to look at the electric aerial because the signal is really bad. the astra has taken over as daily at the moment, the B7 has had to have a new oil cooler, unfortunately I didn't video me changing it as I didn't have time, plus I managed to break some wires so I'm waiting for an auto electrician to come out and sort that. I will do an update video very soon!

@@KernowGarage that’s good news about the radio code! How many miles does your Passat have? Does the aerial click or is there no sound from the motor at all? Sorry to hear about breaking the wires it’s always a pain, I accidentally done that to a VW golf for the break pad ware indicator, I soldered the wires back together and heat shrunk them along with heat shrink over both the wires over the repair for good measure. Hope it doesn’t cost you to much. Steve.
