Vauxhall Calibra SE4 test drive/review

This lovely example is going up for sale soon, so I had to give a good look at first 🙂

One of the most impressive cars I've had, a 4x4 turbo. Solid on the road and in the right place could reach the published top speed easily. Off the clock in fact.

I love my cars I always have done. When I was much younger I rented out this car for a couple of weekends and got into debt because I was so intrigued by it. I love the sunroof. It was white it was summer it was cool. I’ve since gone onto bigger and better things regarding my cars and speed and all things nice but thanks for this as I love this car

Nice clean Calibra .. I had one in 1994 ,an H plate 2 ltr red top . I bought another in 2017 a P plate 16v eco ,still have it ,but mostly only use it in the summer months . Its in great condition,no rust ,its the later 97 with the galvanized body .. I installed my own very needed cup holder 🤣👍. Tbf i prefer the 8v engine ,i had a mk3 Cavalier with that engine ,sweet as .. the 16v feel a bit harsh

Cup holders are in the glove compartment. Can see them in your video. I had one of these for a short while, nice in some respects but much prefer my rover coupe .

Those cup holders are only good when stationery, and many cars still had the tea shelf on the dash in tge '90s anyway. 200 coupe is the nicest of them all 😊

Back in the days that was one of the cars I wish I owned this but if I had to buy one now I would go for the Honda Prelude or Toyota Celica look so cool.

The original 8 valve was the most aerodynamic, the 16 valve, with its different front, knackered that.

Calibra (cavalier) coupe had a few cavalier cars were brilliant 2.0i 8v one my favourites I had, did 225k sold it and it went on to be a taxi after I sold it, as it was only 7 years old at the time.

I had this as a 2 liter DOHC 16V tuned to ~200BHP. Only flying was better.

Always liked them I worked for Vauxhall when they came never managed to get my hands on one now rare as hens Teath up here in the Highlands of Scotland. Ach well never mind I have the 820 lol.😂😁👍

@@ProjectNigel Yeah mate I have seen a few around but with the 2.0 red tops. The 8v is a better engine in my opinion.

In Germany u can't see them anymore in my village I know a older lady owning one in dark blue 2.0 8v my dad got one in black 2.5 v6 from 1996 & I got one in nordcap antrazit 2.0 8v from 1996 I love this car

I had the 2.0 16v ecotec black with leather and irmscher trim and spoiler. Looked awesome but kept braking down. Also underpowered.

1987 that engine came out on last of line mk2 cavalier cdi sri engine was ne code .sri130 was seh code that went like fk that engine.i wish still had my old cavalier mk2 sri the calibra had the seh from 1989 till late 1991 those are rarest calibras .and the mighty redtop 16 valve engines .they replaced it with crap 2litre 16v ecotec engine
