The stock GM alternator is rated for 100A output. To my knowledge, the Elstock one you fitted has 120A output. Did you change any fuses in the fuse box above the positive battery terminal? I'm planning on doing the same swap and I just want to be 100% sure Thanks a lot for all the great info

Do you know why there's a difference in pulley's?..Mine was the same as the one you have there (the 10mm gap on the inside before the belt grooves start) Twice the motor factors got me the wrong one even after giving them the number of the old unit.

I was quoted three hours of labour to replace mine. mechanic said Drive shaft has to be removed. That sounds like rubbish to me?

I had the same problem.with mine, battery saver active light came on, so I replaced the battery. As it wouldn't start completely. Lost all power. Now its back up running but with the same error message coming off and on. Batteru save active. Will this be the alternator??

Did you check the voltage with a multimeter? If the vehicle is stop start did you fit a stop start battery and program it after fitting? Did you check the auxiliary belt is in place ?

My sister has left hers with me,it threw the belt off.....the inside of pulley has disintegrated... can I just fit a new pulley assembly?

Yes. It's a freewheeling clutch pulley. It does need a specific tool to change usually

Hello bud will a 2010 insignia cdti need the alternator coding to ecu? Just done one and the alt charges perfect but the service battery charge system light is still on the dash

Might be that the adaptions need doing for either the alternator or battery

Done one yesterday, took it a drive and a the warnings cleared.....there was also something about putting the passenger side window up and down, it cleared the warning and brought the mpg etc screen back on.

@@markbro4427 this one never did, was charging the battery but apparently needed the alt coding to enable stop/Start again. What year was the one you did mate?
