Vauxhall Meriva Code 82 Service Reset

Car Tip - Today’s car is a 2011 Vauxhall Meriva that has the amber car symbol with a spanner through it along with Code 82 lit up on the dash.
I’ll explain what that means and how to reset it. Hope this helps 👍🏼

Hi, yes code 4 is for overheating which is not good, think code 89 is possible thermostat, best to take the car to your local garage 👍🏼

I have certain lights popping up on the dashboard, however, what you’ve mentioned in the clip just makes them invisible. It doesn’t resolve the underlying issue. Can you please shed a light on the issue or what the problem is, please? Thank you, A Vauxhall Meriva owner (driver)

Yes the code 82 simply means it’s time to service your vehicle, so once you have had the service carried out you can then reset 👍🏼

@@neilarncars thank you for confirming. When I’m driving the car, it (the engine, I think) makes a loud noise! Rather scary, as I’ve encountered a bad experience previously, as the car was releasing grey/black trail of smoke on a motorway lane en route to Reading in 2022. I was advised not to drive the car as I had been informed that it had the potential to catch fire 🔥 so I stopped driving and waited for breakdown! I’m reluctant and anxious in making journeys now as I don’t want a repeat experience.

Ok, try this… Ignition on, press the trip button in the Speedo until it turns to reset then hold same button in until it changes to 100

Hi, Well yes and no, if you don’t service your vehicle it may start to develop issues but it’s not essential to do as soon as the light comes on if that makes sense ?

It can be yes, you have to keep up with serving& maintenance on your vehicle for it to run as it should 👍🏼
