Changed mine a year back, leaking again. Wondering if it’s worth putting a rubber O ring on it? As they don’t seem to come with them, but other cars do

I think they should have a o ring with them if I remember correct. Cheers

Any ideas what the correct item is on Euro Car Parts?

I've just had my oil light come on when out for a drive, so pulled over to have a look and found the entire contents of my engine all over the place. Started her up and saw oil squirting out from the switch so hoping to high heaven it's just that, but the sheer amount of oil is making me nervous. I topped her up again, always keep oil in the boot, and by the time I got home 20 miles later the light was coming on every time I turned a corner again. Not much I could do at half ten at night, so will have a proper look (and clean) tomorrow. How much oil would you likely see from this switch if it were to completely go all of a sudden, which I hope is what happened? Cheers and thanks for the tutorial.

Hi mate, this has just happened to me over the last few days, I changed the rocker cover gasket but only cleaned the switch, so the added oil pressure finished the switch off and now I'm losing loads. Yep it can completely blow out so the oil will literally squirt out especially under high revs, get the switch changed asap and it should be ok unless your rocker gasket it leaking aswell. Hope this helps. Cheers

@@1NELIFE Cheers mate it was indeed the switch. Oil was just pouring out, unlike anything I've seen in any video, far far worse.

Sorry to sound like an old fart but please put some disposable gloves on. Used engine oil is really nasty crap and will soak into your skin. Useful vid much appreciated and many thanks.
