You made the whole process look so easy that I would be tempted to attempt that. Very clear and simple explanation of the whole process. A great video.

Excellent video. Great informative footage. Question for you regarding keeping the timing from going out as I will be changing my camshaft adjusters aswell as doing the TB . Any advice very much appreciated.

Thanks for the comment, my only advice would be to be very careful and triple check everything!

Is the flywheel locking tool strong enough to use to retorque the crank pulley

Thanks for the the awesome video and very well explained , do you have any idea or info on replacing and egr valve on same type of vaxhall zafira , any info will be appreciated , car coming up with p400 code
@maxautouk2 жыл бұрын
I strongly recommend warming the engine to undo the bolts, egr bolts in particular are known to snap and cause issues so to avoid that, having warmed the engine up a bit helps a lot! I would strongly advise against cleaning the egr, these are electronic and not diaphragm operated by engine vacuum so once they start to block the spindle that the motor pushes in and out pretty much burns itself out and they never work quite right again or you end up taking it off to clean it every year

Great video mate do you know if the toque settings are still correct? 25nm? Or 20nm plus 120 degrees Not sure what to use ? Or just make it tight
@maxautouk Жыл бұрын
I used the procedure from the main dealer and it said 25Nm but if you’re unsure you can always go to double check at the main deale r

Where did you get 25nm for Idler and Tensioner? - I hope you used some Threadlocker because that's way too low. and if they vibrate loose then Goodbye engine!! Z16XE (engine used in older Astra G) = 20nm Tensioner 25nm Idler Z16XER and Z18XER = 20nm + 120 degrees both Tensioner and Idler pulleys.

Thanks good video, so the timing belt doesn't go round water pump, replacing water pump not necessary, timing belt interval change 100,000 miles or 10 years from what i can see, ,my one at this point is 6yrs and 80,000 miles from when Opel changed it last, so might get it done soon, may try it myself, thanks again.

Thanks for the comment i hope the timing belt goes well for you 😁
@richardstacey56188 ай бұрын
NO. This is not an easy job. If you do this job successfully, and a fail cannot be thinkable, then you have achieved really quite something. WELL DONE. You need three arms. One to hold the spring tensioner tight clockwise. Then you get the belt on the LEFT pulley and the right one with VERY little slack. Have the wheel on, and turn the engine backwards together the belt on the bottom pulley, then turn the engine clockwise to tension the belt. CHECK to see if the pulley timing marks are correct. Finally pull the tight belt over the guide pulley. Good luck.

You didn't refit auxiliary belt ??????
@maxautouk2 жыл бұрын
Yes of course, you don't necessarily need to refit it on initial start up to ensure timing is fine but obviously it needs to be refitted for normal operating conditions
